While I have always liked Blue and Gold, I hate going along with the crowd. I have one Cygnar army list with pCaine, in an urban camo pattern and a pNemo, pStryker in black and gold (my Black Swan lists).
I also have a 'Lawrence of Arabia' Magnus army done in (primarily) British khaki, some OD green, bronze, gold and a dark red. My intent was a theme of Magnus returning from Skorne in something the British might have worn in the Middle East or even India or North Africa
I have both Haleys and Siege along with their lists and I want an interesting new color scheme for them.
I'd love some ideas.

You could always go opposite of one of your current armies, so find the opposites of black and gold, or a woodland camo so they'll look good and different to the urban ones.

for Siege: do a road crew theme- blue jeans, fluorescent yellow armor, fluorescent orange cloth, white stripes on clothing and black/yellow stripes on jacks. make it all dirty and roll out.
for Haley: do it in a Cryx coloration. black and neon green and silver.

Do Siege in gray, white, and muted gold. That way it gives a very cool-oriented color scheme to the army while still accentuating it with a bit of gold to give the eye a break from the neutral colors.
Hmm... for Haley... hmm... try pink, some bright blue trim, and silver. I say this because in all of the Iron Kingdoms I can't think of any female casters who ever go the "girly girl" route, so it'd be an interesting change of pace.

Or.....just take the lazy way out, Prime them black, and say they are "Stealth Cygnar"......
Ok Kidding aside. do some google-fu there are tons of alt schemes that make Cygnar look good. There is an Orange one on the PP boards that is pretty fantastic.
Or decided on what your main color will be and grab a color wheel to find the colors that will go well with it.

There is a purple and silver one I think from a user on here, he/she has some awesome conversions and painting, but I can't remember the user...

The Cygnar I had for a while was this dark midnight blue with silver trims and black fabrics. Looked pretty neat. It wasn't any really bright colors, so also gave this kind of neat drab actual military look that I enjoyed.
And stuff.

Oh yeah, I remember that one. Siege was the manliest purple-clad warcaster I've ever seen. (No sarcasm, he looked bad-ass).

Not sure what I think about the pink or purple suggestions. I'd have to see pictures of the color schemes.
I was almost thinking of crimson and gold or crimson and silver. Maybe if Vinter took a liking to the Skorne colors and led a Cygnar group. But...
I just don't know.

Crimson and gold actually does sound pretty nice. Maybe a wee smidge Menoth-ish, but there's nothing wrong with that. If you went with a lighter shade of crimson, I imagine the silver would work very well also.

That purple wasn't what I was expecting.
It works. Especially on the Gun Mages. Hmmmmmm Automatically Appended Next Post: And this is neither here nor there, but, WOW, I love the look of the Minuteman, whatever its color scheme.

@Mordekiem: Yes! That was the paintjob I was thinking of. Freaking awesome.
@ Sully: You might also want to do a bit of checking in the gallery here on dakka. If you try searching under Dais, you'll see an interesting color scheme (also in purple, oddly enough) and some cool conversions to boot. You might also want to try just checking under "Cygnar" in the gallery and arrange them based on coolness. Several of the high-ranked models have non-conventional paintjobs that might appeal to you.
@motyak: Is the Minuteman actually any good? I haven't got to see one being used, and though I think they look interesting I'm a bit apprehensive about investing in one.

grayshadow87 wrote:Is the Minuteman actually any good? I haven't got to see one being used, and though I think they look interesting I'm a bit apprehensive about investing in one. Personally? I love it. And I haven't even had a chance to run it with Kraye yet. Personally I think it runs better against warmachine armies than against hordes armies. I find it is really useful as a warcaster-hurter. Not killer, since you'd have to roll really quite well for that, but hurter. With it's ridiculous mobility, you can get up in their face, boost to hit twice with the POW 14 weapons, and put a few damage (boosting one of the damage rolls) on almost any warcaster. Assuming armour 17 as a standard, you'll put something like 11 damage on them (assuming a 3, 4, and a 3, 3, 4 for damage). This forces the opponent to play far more cagily with them than they otherwise would, after this, since one good hit from your defender, or from any of our other long range threats (either long range in the sense of shooting, or long range in the sense of Ol Rowdy with Kraye, or eStryker by himself, stuff like that). After your opponent has had it happen to them once, they have to keep their caster further back than they are used to, and readjust all their tactics to suit this change to their game. This will let you use your minuteman against their infantry and what not like he is good at, and if he gets the chance he can for the caster a bit later. Against hordes this loses a bit of potential, because they'll just transfer the damage to a beast, but then you can always use it in a throwing role, or an infantry clearing role if they have light infantry. I really just love it, I stopped using it for a while and started again in the past week, and have no idea why I stopped using him. I placed 4th in a tournament with 3 wins this week, 2 wins of which were almost purely because of that little energizer bunny.

I'll second motyak, the minuteman is a very good jack. My first game with a pair of them I took a stealth warpwolf down to one health at the bottom of turn one with general Nemo. They have great mobility and high power for a light jack. The short range on their guns can be treated more like 4" reach that can benefit from rat buffs. Just keep them out of actual melee so they can shoot.
They do well at clearing infantry too.
My most regular opponent has taken to making them his top priority target.

Well, in the end, I came up with what I am calling my Tigershark Company: primarily, they are khaki. But they have a grey/blue with dark blue tiger stripe pattern in certain places.
As I write that I think, " Hey, that doesn't sound very cool at all."
But I think it looks better than it sounds.

It's a WIP, of course.
I call it the 11th Royal Marines, Tigershark Company color scheme.
I ended up choosing a primarily khaki color scheme so that I could easily integrate my Mercs who are all khaki (primarily), dark red, some OD green and some tin bitz. Or vice versa, since I like to run Magnus and the long gunners and trenchers 'Switch Hit' for me.

My own cygnar army is in similar colors with reversed fields and no red.

Your purples are coming out very nicely. May I ask what colours you are using on them? I'm thinking of painting my Cygnar in an alt scheme (basically swapping blue for purple and keeping the rest the same) and am still thinking of how to best go about getting the colours right.

I use game color sick blue, reaper indigo sky, and reaper pale indigo. Sometimes I mix white into the pale indigo for a further highlight.
