Myself and Alex F. will be hosting an 1850 tournament at the "Time Machine" in Manchester Ct. on August 24th. The Time Machine has done a complete revamp of its gaming area by opening a new building with tons of room inside and has reached out to get some 40k vets to help run a sizable tourney. We are hoping for a great showing and will consider growing this and making it a yearly thing pending on turn out.

THE TOURNAMENT WILL BE CAPPED AT 26 players. $20 a player, but 100% OF ENTRY WILL GO RIGHT BACK INTO PRIZE SUPPORT. THE STORE HAS ALSO OFFERED TO KICK IN ANOTHER $100-200 for PRIZE SUPPORT. So you are looking at up to $720 going back out as prizes/store credit.

UPDATE: REGISTRATION STARTS 9:30ish, DICE ROLL 10:00, please be on time.

*NOTE: EACH PLAYER CAN ONLY WIN ONCE, so if you place 1st in the tourney you will hand in your raffle ticket. Just to give as many participants a chance to win.

ON TOP OF ALL THIS THE STORE WILL ALSO OFFER a 20% DISCOUNT on all Games Workshop that day for those who play in the tourney. (yes even if you pay with store credit)

Using all the current Codex, No forge-world or Apocalypse. As of now any fortification can be used (Aegis, Bastion, Fortress, skyshield). This may change.

Rule #2 everything should be wysiwig, i understand some GW models do not come with everything, or you dont want to spend extra money on that "upgrade kit". but you must make every effort for a wysiwig army. Conversions or army theme modifications, or things that are bitz bashed, just shoot me a pm or email with pics.

What's the reasoning behind this one, out of curiosity?

It just opens a can of worms, and seems very "exploiting. Example: Archon refusing a challenge but with a 2+invul the controlling player starts allocating wounds to him. Seems if he refuses a challenge he should move to the back or simply not be able to soak any damage as he is hiding behind his squad. Same thing for eternal warrior HQ's, draigo, logan, lysander.... They refuse a challenge but can still have wounds allocated to them to take advantage of smash attacks, I.D. attacks or attacks that would otherwise eat through the squad they are with. Again if they refuse a challenge, they are hiding in the back of their men and letting the squad deal with it.

But in all honesty if people are undecided because of this rule and think they should be able to allocate wounds to a character who refuses a challenge then ill remove it. I figured it was more fair than damaging.

Probably to keep someone from denying a challange with an IC, then using it to tank all the incoming hits.

I'm looking forward to this event. Its going to be a great way to get in some practice games before the NOVA event!

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon on this but unfortunately I had a last minute family obligation and will be skipping this guy. Will be hoping to see as many imperial and xeno scum as possible out at both Mechanicon and Battle for Salvation and wish the best of luck to both in tomorrow's fight!
