I disagree...due to the prevalence of Hell drakes, 2+ armor is better than ever now. I would say that GK is waaay more competitive than blood angels. The only three imperium armies that I would consider competitive are Space Wolves, IG, and runner up being GK.

Besides SW being up there I agree.

IG
DA/SW/GK
SM/BA
BT/SoB

That's my personal opinion on tiers of the Imperium. This is barring IA units.

I am unsure personally...I think I might go all halberds.

Sometimes you're going to be saving those hammers by placing them in the back of the squads or sometimes you're going to put them up front to ake the wounds while other halberds stay safe.

Pretty sure the points there come out to about 1945 or 1955

Honestly...maybe just the one in Draigo's unit as he's going to take the most fire.

I believe if you take 2 you cant fit the 3rd dread into 2000pts

Are these standard space marine dreads or the venerable dreads that grey knights get?

I just started back up in 6th edition and decided to go GK. I ran a small force of Draigowing even at 1k points for my very first game.

It was a whole 12 models and even at that I still managed to win (barely). The nice thing about this variant is there isn't a whole lot to remember. Sure small amount of models but it really allowed me to review rules and still play. I'm sure i'll expand in the future but it really did help for my first game.

My next purchase is going to be Dreadknights because I like the look of the models or I'd look at Dreadnought. I picked this army based off the looks of it. Figured if i'm going to be reading up on the army and painting it I should pick something I enjoy. I walked into the store and ended up picking my army entirely off looks.

No one is beefier in close combat than a daemon prince save maybe a swarm lord.

And the bloodthirster...but...most any single model CC enemy will lose or draw combat with a GK Champion.

Also, see Karandras.

Grey Knights were my first army and they're still my favorite. Don't feel like you need to use cookie cutter lists when you play though. Draigowings are great.

Draigo is my one of my favorite 40k character and I don't care if anyone says his fluff is stupid, he's the man.

But a later on down the road you may find that you don't field enough models, I'd look into the power armoured Grey Knights then.
Also, most people will suggest Psycannons on everything, but I find that I prefer Incinerators. Find what works best for you. I play a lot of Purifiers now. Just don't settle for a boring list that spams "the most competitive" stuff. Find your own unique flavor in your army.

Paladins don't want incinerators...but the fire is good on PAGK, Dreadnoughts, and DreadKnights.

That is an excellent point, I don't play Terminators as much as I used to so, I forget they are relentless.

I personally enjoy using a dual psyflamer dreadnought that jumps off the back of a storm raven.
