Correct.

The part is really that the Drake can vector strike any one unit where it's hull passes over an enemy unit.... the drake is fething wide.

Yep, so you just need to have that wing fly over a base to vector strike it.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but wings count as "bling" and not part of the hull for targeting purposes, for better and worse.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Not on vehicles
pg 73 Note that, unlike for other models, a vehicle's wings are not ornarnental and are a part of its hull

snoogums: "Just because something is not relavant doesn't mean it goes away completely."

Iorek: "Snoogums, you're right. Your arguments are irrelevant, and they sure as heck aren't going away."

Yeah for Vehicles only gun barrels dont count, turrets and wings do (was funny pointing that out to a sisters player who had his Alter sticking up over a wall that normally covered his rhino lol)

Honestly the vector strike isnt what makes me go WTF at GW about the helldrake, its just annoying as feth to me as an ork/tau player since i usually take it out before it can vectorstrike my broadsides and he never does it to my riptides (hes the only person ive played against that actually ignores the riptide, which he should if i only got 1 lol).

What bugs me is that stupid FAQ that made it a turret weapon AND its aimed from the base of the model instead of the head (which is where its being fired). Turreted isnt that big of a deal since it has a neck afterall it should be able to do that...but measuring from the base? that breaks the whole Vehicle Aiming rule entirely and gives it an unfair advantage to shooting behind him now since it doesnt have the 3" or so to cross its own model.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

given how it can vector strike and they let it have 360 firing, think gw views it as a semi fmc.

That is how I look at it and explain it to pepole who complain about it. We have been seeing walkers that use MC rules instead of AV and everyone has been OK with it. Now we have an MC that is using AV instead. It acts like an MC in most regards, but is easier to kill and cannot walk around or assault.

i think i'd prefer it as it is over T6-7 FMC. At least right now, its stuck in the skies and has no physical properties because of it. If it lands and can punch things i bet i'd be good at that too and would have Smash like all MCs so its AP2 and possible S10 if you use the Smash bonus damage.
If they made it a FMC, i'd see it become broken as hell.

can't forget the torrent 12 inches of pain before laying down template, as said many times: helldrake does as helldrake pleases
