I am putting together a dwarven throng of 200 of the stunties. So I have a LOT of bits. In those bits I had 5 ponies, so I decided to spruce up the force with a custom 5 dwarf lancer unit. Below is the test model, the champion. I have a custom banner and a bugler lancer also WIP. Let me know what you think.

I like it.
Being its a mounted Dwarf, do you think the pony should have some barding?

That looks really good. What an idea too, mounted dwarfs!

I love the concept! I may have to steal it!

My one comment is that you should work on removing the 'trailer hitch' off the back of the horse. It looks kinda odd back there connected to nothing.

Hmm. That gives me an idea, a Dwarf pony Chariot. I'll have to look into that...

On which is mounted a massive cannon, of course. Dwarves would certainly not stand for being out done by Ogres, after all.

It's a neat idea, but if you aren't going to remove the arms of the cart, I would do something with that.

Rather than a full chariot, why not rig up a beer keg to roll behind the pony? You could even put a 'floating' seat above the keg for the dwarf, so that he was not seated on the pony, but over the beer. I think that might look better anyway, because the short legs of the dwarf make him look like he's about to fall off his pony (it looks like a toddler trying to ride a draft horse).

Ok, my greenstuffing skills are a little lacking...so making barding for the ponies is probably not going to happen.

As for the hitch arm on the back. I think I will cut them off for these initial 5. But I DO like the chariot idea. And the cannon/keg idea. So here is what I am thinking as a long term plan. Make a cannon chariot 3 horses wide in the front. Then have it extend two horse lengths back, and then flanked by 3 pony lancers on each side. Would make for a very cool display piece I think.

But for right now I will just keep updating this thread with their WIP updates. I have the bugler and the standardbearer on their mounts, spear and banner still drying with some modeling clay and greenstuff.
