Really nice, wish I could paint to that standard, makes for a beautiful box set. Hope it sees a lot of use!

Very sweet pictures, I love the blending of the cape from Chaos dude and the blade from the Dark Angel. Really well done.

Cheers, guys! The set was fun but at times aggravating to paint. The troops all went well, but the heroes were a bit of a pain as the GW sculptors seemed to think it was a good idea to cram as many little bits and bobs as possible on them.

Really great models you have there.
I have to ask, what was your method for shading upon the lighter areas, specifically on the dark angels?
Did you use an airbrush?

The more i see the more i'm developing a fondness for chaos cultists. They reminded of Necromunda, can't remember the specific name of the gang, but they loved flamers!
There's also always something about a fully painted squad of space marine that looks great, no matter the chapter.
Great brush work too!

Do you mean the off-white cloaks? I just used blending, glazing, and line-highlighting to get the effects I used on this set. Pretty elementary stuff can get really nice results.
Also, I just noticed that I have the white-balance way off on the pictures of Kranon - the colors look blueish-purple. Dunno how I forgot to adjust that in Photoshop.

I was more referring to the lighter shading on the armour, like the top the the exhaust vents on the backpack.

Ah, ok. That was just simple old blending assisted by lots of Vallejo acrylic medium (look it up-it's really good stuff).
