I started making a list and simply could not bear to remove some of games to make it into 5

1.Icewind Dale + Expansion pack
2. Diablo 2
3. Total War Medival 2 MOD : The Third Age
4. Shogun 2
5. Baldurs Gate series

Uhh it's pretty hard to nail down my favorites, ill do the 5 I've put the most time into.

Oblivion
Fallout 3
Fallout new Vegas
Skyrim
Dragon Age Origins

And Mass Effect is 6

In no particular order

Street Fighter 2 turbo to Street fighter alpha 3

Tekken 2 to tekken tag 2

Mario Kart. The greatest racing game known to humanity.

Oblivion - I completed the game with a character of every race. I could kill even Umbra at level one. I know there are walkthroughs and stuff on the internet, but when I played Oblivion I didn't have the internet.
My favourite character - I made an Orc with a 2 handed hammer. Wolves used to leap at me - I used to shout 'PULL'...you get the idea

Space Marine. No other game gives me licence to kill so much in a short space of time using only a power sword and plasma pistol. There is nothing I can't beat on that game. Bar the dreadnought while playing 1 vs 1.

Transformers fall+war for cybertron. The first had a co-op campaign which was great fun.
The second has a good multiplayer survival mode. And the dinobots. Bar Sludge. Was a bit of a shame as he was always the best, but I can't have everything.

Ooomph, Republic Commando was good! So disappointed there wasn't a sequel.

Surprised by the amount that put Halo 3 before Halo (1/Combat Evolved).

I think Halo 3 is on so many lists because it has the most balanced FPS multiplayer ever made. The story mode is absolute trash

Well, I agree with the multiplayer being the best I've ever played. I found the Campaign to be strictly average, though.

I definitely disagree about Halo 3's campaign being trash, I'm a big fan of the Halo lore and loved the plot, and it's probably my most-played co-op game.

I much prefer Battlefront 1 over 2. While the space battles in 2 were awesome, the heroes were way overpowered and they took out Bespin Platforms which was my favorite map, haha.

1. The total war series (because lets face it, it's the same game with a different skin) - favourite atm being XGM of rome total war1
2. Civilisation series (see above , except 5 because after 4 games i can't handle the switch between production and money) - favourite being Orbis Modmod of civ 4
3. City of heroes , hands down the best MMo I've ever played.
4. Bloodbowl chaos edition - i like blood bowl and it's pretty
5. Starcraft 1 . I played multiplayer for years all the while being poor to average in skill but still loving it.

OMFG i forgot colonization the original, I played the crap out of that for ages, dissapointed with the newer version though (it seems to short)

Oh god, so many.

Alright, I'll give it a shot (and seriously date myself as well.)

In no particular order:

Blaster Master (NES) - I remember saving up for this game for a couple months and was excited as hell when I could finally afford it. Absolutely best NES game of all time for me.

Falcon 4.0 (PC) - One of the best flight sims ever made. So good in fact that they are still doing re-releases and have a strong modding community a decade later...all on the original code.

Combat (Atari 2600) - One of the few family activities we really ever had. Bouncing pixels around corners and blowing the hell out of each other.

WWIIOnline (PC) - Terrible graphics, utterly horrible launch, but the physics, community, and sheer scale of the world (europe modeled in half-scale) kept me locked in for many years.

IL-2 Series (PC) - Not the best flight model but good enough, but great graphics and the sheer variety of aircraft you can fly ensures that this flight sim is perma installed on my computers.

Supreme Commander (Especially including Forged Alliance) rocks the RTS for me.

Skyrim. Played a lot on that one, and I mean a LOT! (500hours and counting)

System Shock 2

X - Beyond the Frontier. A more modern version of Elite where you could mod your starting ship to be faster than a light fighter, carry more than a heavy transport, and pack as much firepower as a destroyer.

World of Tanks would take my online spot hands down.

Anyone remember Airborne Ranger on the Amstrad?
Found myself looking up a playthrough of it on youtube the other night.

1) Ace Combat 04: Shattered skies --I really like the story and the way it was told. It made me think about things for a bit when it finally came time to shoot down the enemy ace, who wasn't that bad of a guy, really.

2) Sonic 3 & Kuckles -- A classic, really. This game is probably responsible for why I like platfomers.

3) Metal Gear Soild 3 -- The boss fight with the end puts it at No.3. I really like good boss fights which is why

4) Shadow of the Colossus --This one is on the list.

5) Shining Force -- I've only played 1 and 2. For no particular reason I like number 1 better. I'm so jelly Draconic got his hands on number 3. Anyways, I got a copy of Shining Force 1 for my genesis with the box and manual intact.

Some honorable mentions are Xwing VS Tie Fighter, The Walking Dead, Jak2, Dark Cloud, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.

So there you have it, folks.

I never quite understood why people liked X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter so much...

TIE Fighter just narrowly missed my list - it was pretty much my first proper PC game. And was awesome. And had Thrawn being a badass in it.

X-Wing V TIE Fighter was just awful for me. First of all, it required me to buy a joystick to even play it.

Secondly, it was just a bunch of random crappy skirmishes.

Thirdly, it was a multiplayer game designed before the internet (in the UK at least) was particularly capable of doing proper multiplayer games.

And finally, the only hint of a proper campaign and story came in the 'Balance of Power' expansion pack, which was pretty expensive in the day. And still wasn't as awesome as TIE Fighter.

Truth be told, I'd rank "X-Wing Alliance" higher than the game and that wasn't brilliant.

I've never played Xwing or TIE fighter, only the Versus.

So that's probably why.

Guilty It's my favorite console. In quality I think it was far superior when compared to the PSX. Problem is, IIRC, it was a b*tch to program games for the SS when compared to the PSX. There were so many more games available to the PSX back then.

Fun fact: The Shining Force 3 I have there is only Scenario 1. There's a SF3 Scenario 2 and 3. SS flopped before the translations to english were done (or it just died early outside of Japan, I don't remember correctly). I already played Scenario 2 in Japanese with a translated script to guide me but gak, it was so frustrating to play like that, didn't have the courage to advance to Scenario 3.

@Draconic Have you heard of the SF3 translation project?

I think they're trying to patch disks 2 and 3 into english. As I don't have those nor a sega saturn, I don't think I'll be able to play SF3 anytime soon. From what I hear, SF3 is really good. (And a letdown, as there is no two or three in english)
