I've been trying to get my Sisters competitively back onto the gaming table and decided to ally them with IG. The following list took the best options from the weak Sisters DwarfDex to buff IG. Celestine can use her warlord trait to buff the IG considerably. It's a pure foot list (with flyers) that I think is quite competitive, but would like some feedback.

HQ 260 pts
Celestine (Warlord with Personal Trait) - Joins 50-man IG blob, giving them "Fearless" and whatever warlord personal trait she gets
Jacobus Joins 50-man IG blob, giving them and Celestine FNP, +1 attack all the time, re-rolls on the charge; re-rolls Sisters' Faith Points
Company Command Squad, Mortar team. Gives orders to my objective holders

Troops 890 pts
Platoon Command Squad - Commander mans the Quad Gun inside the ADL
Platoon Command Squad - Escorts the IG Blob, giving FRFSRF orders
10-man Infantry Squad with Autocannon - Stay planted on objectives
10-man Infantry Squad with Autocannon - Stay planted on objectives
10-man Infantry Squad with Autocannon - Stay planted on objectives
50-man Combined Squad (blob), includes 5 flamers, 5x Sergeants with power axes and meltabombs
10x Sisters, 1MM, 1MG - Escorts the IG Blob
10x Sisters, 1MM, 1MG - Supports as needed

Fast Attack 430 pts
Vendetta Squadron [2] - Air defense
8x Seraphim, 4x hand flamers, meltabombs - harassment unit flying ahead of the IG blob

Aegis Defense Line with QuadGun - Air defense


Concept is to push the blob forward aggressively, escorted by a Sister squad with melta elements and the PCS. Within the blob, Jacobus gives all bodies FNP, re-rolls of misses on the charge, and +1 attack. Adding the +1 attack on the charge, the 5 Sgts with power axes get 5x Str4 AP2 attacks EACH on the charge and re-roll misses, Celestine would get 7x re-rollable WS7 attacks on the charge. It's even better if Celestine gets the Furious Charge or Outflank or Legendary Fighter traits. Celestine can also detach from the blob and go out on her own or with the Seraphim. Since she never really dies she can be a headache attacking weak units on her own, and Jacobus with Stubborn and LD10 can hold the blob together.

From the 15 Sisters Retributors with Heavy Bolters I am getting 36 possibly rending Str5 AP4 shots at BS4 and 36" range for great anti-infantry suppression.

My autocannon infantry squads sit on objectives and shoot at light vehicles or MCs with twin-link orders from my CCS.

Marbo can be a great support for my advancing blob.

I think this is a competitive list, but would like to know whether it'll measure up to new Tau or Eldar.

Good concepts (not a sisters player) but as far as I know the fearless and warlord trait from the saint don't effect allies just sisters themselves so the blob squad doesn't get her rules. Same with the other HQ in the blob.

Actually we do. The FAQ doesn't state the old 'only effecting units from Codex [insert army name here]' which is what stops cross codex powers with other armies.

You don't seem to have an IG HQ unless that PCS manning the quad-gun is mean to be a CCS?

Not sure how the list will fair against reallycompetitive lists, but I suspect it'll be able to hold it's own in alot of games.

No, it's good.

Things I would do different:
I would get a bastion rather than an Aegis. Put the PCS on top and a Retributor inside.
I would also swap the seraphim for Dominions so you can pop something crunchy so your blob can get to it.
Not a fan of vendetta squadrons, but YMMV.
I run something similar with a Primaris (for biomancy) in the blob. Getting endurance is hilarious.
I reaaaaallly don't like walking sisters. I would get rides for them.

The big problem is that it just doesn't feel punchy enough at 2k, but let us know how it works out.

The Saint is a suicide bomb...that keeps coming back! I'd use her that way, along with Marbo, to disrupt enemy backfield/score linebreaker....? Especially vs that Tau nonsense! If you don't deep strike or outflank or "rhino rush" you will NEVER get close to them!

You're missing the gimmick. The huge blob with Celestine and Jacobus is fearless, +1 attack, FNP and Stubborn. It is pretty awesome.

@evildrcheese: the IG HQ is the Company Command Squad with mortar listed under Celestine and Jacobus.

@pretre: I played around with this list for an entire week+, and toyed with the idea of the bastion (set up exactly as you describe with PCS on top battlement and Retributors inside), walking Sisters, Primaris HQ, and doms vs Seraphims.
In the end I decided against the bastion and Rhinos for my walking Sisters for one reason alone: they would be the obvious targets of any high-strength weapons and get knocked out first turn. I had the Bastion setup until right before posting the list, but decided it would be too risky being the only obvious target for high strength weapons. As it is, there are no obvious targets for these weapons. The only exception to that was dominions....I was really undecided between Doms and Seraphs, and had considered MM Immolator with 2x meltagun Doms outflanking, but in the end thought that flying Seraphim with meltabomb and flamers would be more effective in the overall list. How would you run Doms in this list?
Vendettas are there for one reason: air defense (esp vs helldrakes), but if I have air superiority at some point, they can take out vehicles easily, which is the bonus.
I seriously considered the Primaris, but the randomness to the powers finally made me decide for the CCS, at least with the CCS I get orders, which to me is like psychic powers lite.
At one point in the list I had the Bastion with several ordnance artillery pieces (Colossus and Griffon) hiding behind the bastion and lobbing shells into the opponents' ranks...would that be a better, more "punchy" list? Always looking for new ideas to bump up my list effectiveness.

That's awesome then. that blob advancing and doing first rank second rank will kill. So would the blob gain the faith powers and +1 attack cause if it does that's just amazing.

Celestine doesn't have a faith power and allies don't benefit but they would get FNP and +1 attack.

I get that. I've been swinging back towards mech recently though because of everyone's focus on anti-infantry. Looks fun though.
