As I've been looking at list over the past couple of weeks while floating around the big blue ocean I was starting to wander on how the Harlequins listed under Dark Eldar codex could be effected by the Eldar psychic abilities. I generally just take the Harlequins from the Eldar Codex but that sucks up a unnecessary slot that I could use for something else.

Basically the question is, does the Harlequin consider to be from both codex's regardless of which one they are picked from?

Read the 6th edition BRB, which came out last summer. It will tell you about allies and how they interact.

The thing is that the Harlequins fall under both codexs, and with the release of the new Eldar Codex, the FAQ updated the Dark Eldar Codex for Harlequins to match the Eldar Codex.

My GK codex contains models that are called "Warriors." Though they have the same name, they use different rules and stats than the models called "Warriors" in the Tyranid book.

I'm sure you can see the parallel.

While fluff-wise, the Harlequins are the same unit, they do actually have subtle, yet significant differences between the two Codices. You will have to decide which Codex you choose them from because they will have different rules.

Be aware though, as Battle Brothers, Dark Eldar Harlequins can be the target of Eldar psychic powers.
