Hi guys.

I am from Melbourne. And just woindering are there any other alternatives other than Milsims and Battlefoam?

I need to transport my models safely and I don't really want to pay the ridiculous price that they asked for.

Following are my items in need of transporting.

2 x heldrake
2 x Landraider
2 x forgefiend
6 x predator
4 x Rhino
2 x defiler.

Just to clarify. By transport, I mean travelling with planes, overseas, so I am going to need a bag of some sort. I currently have. Citadel army box. The huge ass one. But at the moment as my army grows, that just doesn't cut it anymore. And it takes up half of your luggage space which is annoying.

Hope to hear what the dakka community has got to say about this.

Thanks for your time.

KR Multicase offer great bags/foam loadouts.

I just bought a Kaiser 1 bag from them which holds my 1500-1750 pt army in a messenger bag style (they do have bags/cases that hold 4x that amount though).

Take a look at this one (quad): http://www.krmulticase.com/cases.aspx?s=S - pretty sure it would hold everything as just one of the cardboard segements holds the foam for my 1500 pt army.

The bag is also very low key (black with a little KR symbol in the corner). The #1 reason I would never by the battlefoam bags is that they are that olive green colour with BATTLEFOAM splashed across the front..... sorry don't really feel like walking around with a dork sign strapped across my chest.

I also was browsing a company called feldherr who make miniature cases, but didn't see custom trays on their site. Worth checking out though as their design looks clean and professional as well.

I am using KR multicase at the moment as well. But for items like heldrake a square pluck out foam just doesn't cut it. As it is rigid and requires extra protection.

I am looking for something that is custom made into the shape of the models. So it holds it firmly in place.

Checked the fledherr out. They have only got normal trays. :(

Non-"dorks" wouldn't know what battle foam is. I just started this hobby and would have had no idea if not for actually doing 40k.
I am currently looking for a good foam solution myself, without the expense of battle foam.

Wear that dork badge proudly. Never be ashamed.

I have the Battlefoam 1520XL, and proudly wheel it down the main street of Campbelltown on my way to the FLGS. Anyone wants to think worse of me for it - feth them.

I know that Pelican makes pluck foam, as well as custom cases, but that's pretty pricey, though I can get a discount because of where I work. I would definitely get custom for a drop pod army. And I DEFINITELY want to get a custom case for my Crimson Hunters when I start my Eldar Army. No way in HELL am I gonna try and transport such beautiful models with proper care.

This made me laugh out loud. Couldn't agree more. I use be concerned about how other people perceived me or the hobby but I eventually just stopped caring. If it makes you happy, go with it. Chances are 90% of the people you come in contact with you will never see again, so f it.

The chaos icon on my defiler keeps breaking because i dont have a proper box to transport him.
I have feeling he hates me and plotting to murder me with his pie plate during my sleep.

I got into a fight at 3am with a couple of drunks - does that count?

No, for the most part people walking near me give as much of a gak about what I'm wheeling around as I do about what they think of what I'm wheeling around.

As a fellow owner of a Battlefoam 1520XL, I must *bro-fist*.

I proudly wear the dork badge and that same "dork badge" keeps my miniatures safe. I spend hours and hours working on my models, I want the best there is for transport and safety of lots of models.

They are actually international, I think out of Germany though ...I just have the link to the US page.

They have more than just regular foam too. It is very easy to customize their stuff.

Oh okay, I was on their US site and it says "not in the USA or Canada? Click this link to our European site" so I followed that link, and it said "not in Europe? Follow this link to our USA site" or something similar. Not sure which one I would need to use for Aus, but their prices seem good, and their products look nice.

Then you must bind the foul daemon engien with chains! And plugg his cannon with a cork!

But back on topic, I use my old kit bag alongside a few large plastic contatiners lined with soft cloth, works well enough. Rule books goes in a backpack alongside codex, dice and such

I do that when going to my local store too. But I need something that I can use to store them travelling overseas.
