Given the many different factions in every army, what supplement would you like to see for what army and for what purpose?

Ignoring the factions that already have supplements or will get them

Space marines: Salamanders or Iron hands (although the IH would need a lot of new fluff wholesale due to their neglect)

Tyranids: Hive Fleet Jormungandr

Dark Eldar: Poisoned Fang Kabal

Imperial guard: Valhallan Ice Warriors/Catachan Jungle fighters

Orks: Speed freaks

Blood Angels: Flesh tearers

Space wolves: The lost 13th

Necrons: Sautekh Dynasty

Black Templars: The Armageddon crusade

Grey knights: First brotherhood.

Sisters of battle: Order of the white rose.

That's all I got for now.

I get the Iron Hands, the flesh tearers, the catachan jungle fighters, and to a lesser extent the speek freaks, but what is unique about the other ones?

At the moment, for Sisters I'm leaning towards Valorous Heart. They would probably buff Repentias/Penitents, which would make for an interesting playstyle for the Sisters. But it'd probably be Martyred Lady, since they're the postergirl Order.

For Space Marines, Iron Hands could be interesting. Cool fluff, and a distinct style of warfare.

Codex: squats, an imperial guard supplement.

(More realisticly, codex: demiurge, a codex: tau supplement)

I collect:
Guard - 2k of mostly infantry
DA - 2k of deathwing, 2k of other bits (no vehicles)
Sisters - mostly converted/proxy because I'm waiting for therange to go plastic.
Tau - 2k with no riptides because I can.

At one time or another I'd like for their to be supplements for every major event/sub-faction. Like say the black legion having a supplement with some characters or unit upgrades and the Legiones Astartes base rule.

And heck you can't even get your own jollies off without Slaanesh giggling and farting out some daemons. And if you manage to avoid all that, some genestealers might infiltrate your planet and bring a hive fleet crashing down on you any way.

If they gave the Black Legion, the most Generic of all the Chaos Legions, a supplement, you can bet the most generic SoB order is going to get one.

Except that "more-or-less-generic" isn't a criterium for these. It's having a suitably iconic event that lends itself to the "historic style" format of these supplements

Iyanden's defining clash with Nids... works.
A Black Legion Black Crusade.. works
The Crimson Fists' defense of Rynn's World... works.
The Ultramarine's Battle for Macragge... works (a near-mirror to the Iyanden book actually, and thanks to the old Hive War supplement, most of it is arguably already written).

Etc....

Iron Hands? I don't see it. They are known for their general philosophy and cybernetic traits, not any particular iconic battle or event (in the 40K timeline, not Horus Heresy). Hard to mould that into a historic-mission-style-book supplement. White Rose? I don't see it. Thousand Sons? I don't see it. If anything, it would probably be Ahriman's Renegade Prodigal Sons I'd recon. Etc..

For Sisters' you probably have the most meat with the Order of our Martyred Lady.

But White Rose aren't the most generic ones. They're just a minor Order that appear in one of the Cain books. You may have been confusng them with Sacred Rose. The reason I said oh Emperor no, by the way, is that they're not the best portrayal of the Sisters, IMO. Mitchell writes them charging into Tyranid swarms unsupported and being utterly duped by a radical Inquisitor.

Anyway, the most generic Sisters would be Ebon Chalice. Their saint is Dominica herself, and they have reputation for having remained largely the same since their formation.

Ah yes probably meant the Sacred Rose. My wife Zophia's the big SoB expert, not me.

That would be a supplement to TWO codexes though...far better to work it from IG to start with and add two pages of rules for Patriarch and Magus.

As a BA player Fresh Tearers would be so fun. Everyone has red thirst, full of big-beefy chainswords and axes -- with lots of rending.

Besides the rending it sounds like an astorath list.

Kind of. Astorath still only increases the chance of thirst, not guarantee it -- also Flesh Tearers are basically Khorne Berserkers in emperor's clothing. It would be appropriate to have their CC units to have no ranged weapons and charge in dual-wielding swords and axes.

And?

Iyanden is just a Spiritseer list. Add a variant Warlord Trait that gives more Red Thirst. Done.

Minimal space wasted on rules, maximum amount of space to use for background, missions, etc.. .

I would like a Imperial Guard supplement, with the different regiments. And rules specefic to them, like Karnak skulltakers, Praetorians, Moridans and Tallaran
Also I would be happy if I where to see a supplement for SW regarding the 13th company
