So I'm considering plopping down for a unit of Corsairs, and wanted input on how best to implement it with what I already own. Currently for this list the Corsairs are the only thing I don't own. In addition to what is listed here I own 25 spearmen, 20 more Crossbows, and 5 Dark Riders.

Supreme Sorc, Lv4, Tome of Furion, Talis. of Pres., Lore of Shadow 320
Dreadlord, Pegasus, SDC, Shield, Armor of Eternal Serv., Crown of Command, Crimson Death 302
Sorc, Lv2, Dispel Scroll, Guiding Eye 185
Death Hag, Cauldron, BSB 225

CORE:
40 Corsairs, Command, Serpent Banner 450
20 Crossbowmen 200 (Both Mages here, or I could split into 2x10, but that makes Guiding Eye nearly useless)
5 Harpies 55

SPECIAL:
20 Black Guard, Mus, Banner of Murder 306
5 Cold One Knights 135
9 Shades 144

RARE:
1 Hydra 175

Army total 2497

The Lair of Vengeance....Poole.

Corsairs function well with most things due to them providing a combat unit, or another. And as DE will be taking shadow anyway, there is no better target in the book for Mindrazor. People may argue that witch elves are the best, but they trade the survivability for an extra pip of initiative and poisoned attacks.

As for the list, a few tweaks are advised to make the most of the corsairs.

1. The level 4 should take the stabby dagger to throw a million +1 dice at mindrazor when you need it.

2. The dreadlord adds nothing to the list, the only reason to take him is to hold things that you don't want to fight up, and ithout the pendant, he can't do that reliably.

3. Drop the Level 2 and Guiding Eye off of the level 1. It adds very little to crossbowmen, as they struggle to do any damage to the important things nowadays.

4. Swap crossbowmen, or a mixture of crossbowmen for a unit of 20 warriors with the standard of discipline.

5. Drop the knights, or up them to 7. The reason I say 7, is that they still remain fairly cheap, but can also go into combat with the extra attack buff and do a fair bit of damage.

6. As much as I like shades, I find that to make them work, you need multiple units. So drop these guys to fund more bodies elsewhere.

Malifaux masters owned: Guild(Sans McCabe), Outcasts(Sans Misaki), Arcanists(Sans Marcus)

Much thanks, I'll start a revision right away.

I think your list is good for the models you have. Honestly, other than ponying up for the corsairs I would tell you to keep working with what you have until our new book comes out in a couple of months.

I would however find the points for the dark riders since I always find them so useful, especially when working in tandem with harpies to pull off double flees.

Sac dagger is also a must when running a corsair/infantry centric list relying on mindrazor.

Rumors have it in the next 12 months. I anticipate needing funds available for it as I imagine we'll have all the elite infantry redone in plastic. I also will miss the number of magic item builds we currently have, as it'll get dropped down to 10 items, 7 of which are useless crap(the theme of army specific items this edition).
