From conception to creation, over two years, with extensive breaks whenever I got fed up with an aspect of the project.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

You've captured the essence of 40K here. This looks how the Throne could look - a machine kept deep in the Imperial Palace that's never shown to the outside world, that only a handful of people in the galaxy ever set foot in.

I can't quite read the text next to the buttons on the control panel, what does it say?

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

Also, If you were ever to attempt the 2.0 perhaps the head could be a bit more decayed?

Some pseudo-Latin gibberish, actually. The top one says "Radix Ultor" and the bottom one "Libera Me". One of the last things I did after taking that photo was adding some black pigment to "burn out" the control console a bit, it looks too pristine there.

To put it another way, there was maybe 20 hours of building, plus another 10 for the first iteration of the throne which had to be scrapped entirely. Then maybe 6-12 hours painting. The construction phase was just spread out over a period of some 28 months.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The contest judges took some better photos of the model, including a few of the back side, which I'd've rather they didn't, since it's not as finished as I'd've liked.

Love the Davros vibe going on.

I also think the back is cool, it has the look of the back of a machine that's designed to be seen from the front.

Shred City.

I can appreciate the amount of work put into this, but it's not as resplendent and ornate as the throne should be, and the injuries aren't really accurate. Good effort though, as a diorama I give it an 8/10.

Nice work, I always imagine the throne as being a solid gold place thats perfectly clean. This gives it that more gritty hospital feel with the fluids on the ground and such.

[chaos]See your corpse-god for what he truly is: not a figure of magnificence, but a wretched pile of decaying flesh, dead but not allowed to die so those corrupt High Lords of Terra can continue to squeeze the galaxy in his name.[/chaos]
