Here's my new flyer - I also am in the process of completing a converted Heldrake, and used the leftover head and wing for this guy's base, painted them to copy my 40k buddy's Iron Warriors Heldrake. Feedback welcome, the whiteboard it's up against is the only thing I could find in the house that didn't dilute my cell camera's ability to take lit pictures well so my apologies for the hand in the picture.

the green is nice, but i personally think that they look better black... they are a part of the ravenwing, after all...

Ah that's actually my army colors, I do play DA but my own scheme, ie green marines with red kneepads/shoulder edges/weapon bits and silver hands/helmets/certain mechanical parts. If anything I'm looking for basing feedback, I really haven't done much real basing in my collection, this is my first real attempt.

I like the green scheme. Though I am not a fan of the red tips on the bolters. To me they look like the red tips they put on toy guns.

I have not been the person I was since I stopped being him.

In your bits box

You have a steady hand and a good attention to detail, but sadly it looks cheap with the reds in there. If 90´s toy is the look you want, you hit it spot on. If not, then i would suggest some highlights, another color for the guns and possibly some barrel holes.

Some pics of it with the army to get an idea of the big picture would be great.

Yeah sure, I have a ridiculous amount of models but picked a representative sample - covers most of the codex. As I mentioned previously they're either barely based or just painted on the bases, and were also mostly painted 10 years ago - I'm not a particularly good painter now, but I definitely wasn't back then! But as you can see the red is a consistent theme throughout the army, I'll admit I haven't heard the feedback that they look like 90's toys or cheap but then again I also haven't been asking for specific feedback like that, so I'm not disputing your point. I have, uh. A lot of models painted in this, probably over 7,000 points, but the red is also primarily a highlight color so I could change it? Any suggestions what to change it to?

I can tell your a big fan of the red as it sets you apart from other DA players. I would try to weather the red a bit, ez trick would either use wash (nulin oil color) over the red to darkn it up. Or dry brush some silver onto the red so they look worn and cuts the cheesy bright red down. If that doesnt work id paint some things black with grey highlights.

OK, I've tried a new color scheme with one of my bikes, modeled next to my old color scheme here - just removing the red made the silver kind of overwhelming so I added more green and put black in as a third, less glaring color than the red. Thoughts?

Thanx for the zoom in mate, I'm a sucker for rhino variants XD. Also good job on the Dark Talon.

I like the green bike better. Better contrast. The bolsters on the front look better to with black ank silver rather than all silver.
