Any suggestions as to the best tactics/powers to use with him? He has mark of nurgle, power armour and the sigil of corruption.

Most people take no mark so they can get 3 rolls on telepathy. With MoN and a 4++ save, you could go with Biomancy instead and bury him in a squad of Plague Marines to get fearless and provide some assault support.

I was going to recomend the same if you are stuck on nurgle. The bimancy will make the sorcerer into a cc beast with the right powers but be aware it won't really benifit anybody but him

Getting enfeeble and then assaulting with poisoned weapons would be fun.
Wounding T3 89% of the time is a hoot.

I bring the axe if I expect a lot of resistance. Normally I bring a force stave.

Axe for a T5 4++. You're durable enough to swing last. If it was a T4 5++ I'd bring Sword.

Also if you are planning on putting him with plague marines(which is the best spot) blight grenades are unnecessary as far as I can tell.

I had this question when i was doing an army swap game with a friend.

Mark of anything requires you to roll half of your max spell son the respective mark chart. If you have 3 are you then rolling 2 of those on nurgle chart?

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

no you just have to roll one on the mark. I played him in a tournament and rolled once on the nurgle list and once on the telepathy list. Puppet master is so much fun. I also managed to instakill a riptide and wiped out a firewarrior squad with him

I prefer Mastery 3, Spell Familiar, Force Staff when I bring a Sorc. All the telepathy powers are useful - and I shoot for invisibility/Hallucinate in most cases.

If I get one of those I will usually switch to Biomancy in hopes of grabbing Endurancs/Enfeeble.
