Subject: Can Obliterators repair vehicles?

My readings indicate that Obliterators are often corrupted Techmarines (Warpsmiths with the new Codex) who have been afflicted with the Obliterator virus... wouldn't that mean that they are still affiliated with vehicles and can potentially fix them? Yet we have yet to see a single example when Obliterators have interacted with vehicles... other than blowing them up.
Thoughts?

I've always got the impression that obliterators lose some intelligence when they get the virus. I'm not sure where I've picked that up (or if I've just made it up).

You'd be wrong. Anyone can be an obliterator

They lose their sanity, not sure about intelligence.

On the subject of their sanity and intelligence, some keep both, its a spoiler from the BL novel Siege of Castellax:

(Thats a great book)
There are examples of Obliterators losing their sanity slowly and some of my readings indicate that they are often Techmarines...

Yes thats from the older Chaos Marine codexes. While it may still hold true the new codex doesnt mention Techmarines anymore as the group that especially becomes them. Although it does mention that they favour the company of Warpsmiths. This could indicate that they help the Warpsmith with tech as it is one of their motivations/goals. The reason repairing is probably never mentioned is that they do this outside of battles if at all. 40K is mostly about the battle and not the logistics surrounding it. In battle the Obliterator is far more helpfull in the actual battle and blowing vehicles up, while the Warpsmith hangs back and executes emergency repairs (as shown by their abitlity in the codex).

I think they favor the company of Warpsmiths mostly because they share the same obsession with technology... also I'm sure Warpsmiths are just as facinated in Obliterators. In return, Warpsmiths have the ability to acquire and create weapons that Obliterators can absorb. Yeah but I think you have the main point. Oblitz rather shoot than fix things.

The long and short of it is, if they learn how to fix things (knowledge) and have the sanity/intelligence to fix things, and their hands aren't too warped I guess, then yes, they could potentially fix things. (haha)
