I was looking on the belt of lost soul (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2013/07/forgeworld-new-apocalypse-book-coming.html) the table of contents of the new apocalypse book from FW and I found some interessing "upcoming model" :

Typhon heavy siege tank
Tau titan killer cadre
Hierodule steelcrusher swarm
chaos space marine: thunderhawk gunship, storm eagle, spartan

The Tau Titan Killer Cadre and Hierodule Steelcrusher Swarm are almost certainly formations. The Typhon Heavy Siege Tank is a 30k Heresy vehicle currently, so that's interesting. CSM always got Thunderhawks and Spartans IIRC, but Storm Eagles are pretty cool.

Does anyone who went to the US Games Day and brought the book want to chip in?

Yeah, this is all known stuff. The models are already released, the only new things in the book are some of the formations.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I'm just looking to see what they've done with the Chaos Contemptor and Decimator.

I'm curious to the Formations you can make out of the Tomb Citadel.

I just hope they don't waste their time on formations with 4-RoB's, although with a name like "City of the Dead" I am sure they will do that.
Wouldn't it be awesome if they spend so much ink on the 2 playgroups in the world who bought 4 of those?

I'm just hoping they don't nerf the Tesseract Ark and the Sentry Pylons...

I would be pretty pissed.

I don't think so, IA12 is too new to change the rules now.

I'd like to hear about the new malanthrope broods, if they've changed. I guess we just have to wait until someone with the book chimes in.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Does anyone know when it's released?

For a book that's apparently had official previews at open days, it's a little odd we know more about it from BoLS than the FW website.

I suspect the Tomb Fortress will be with 4 Tomb Citadels, and the City of the Dead will be either Tomb Fortress or Citadel with some Infantry.

In reply to your second point, 4 Tomb Citadels cost less than the body of a Reaver Titan, and can be used in 40k, so they will see more table time.

Finally, since when should the cost of the combined models determine whether they should make a formation for it or not? At least you can scratchbuild a Tomb Citadel fairly easily...

EDIT: Sorry, this wasn't meant to sound so aggressive.

See, you're trying to use people logic. DM uses Mandelogic, which we've established has 2+2=quack. - Aerethan

I should really paint some of my models instead of browsing forums.

The issue is that you have to use a Realm of Battle board for it to fit on at all, plus it means that specially designed thematic tables render them invalid as they can't be placed. You can design one for any given board, but at that point you are scratchbuilding a 4'x4' fort which you most likely will not have room to put on the board unless it's a huge game. It's just a bit silly - I can see that they'd want to sell the things but unless you play on ROB boards, they're not useful. In normal 40k that's fine - ROB boards are fairly common around here. In a game of Apocalypse, where the boards are regularly things like 12'x6', that's a big monetary issue. Even when I have played on boards that huge they tend to be fairly impossible to rearrange so you'd need to bring them over before the table is made/set up and... urgh, what a nightmare. No, very few people would willingly inflict that upon themselves.

Since people could buy it this weekend at the Open Day, that would mean it should go up for pre-order soon (2 weeks or less).

For those wanting to know what's in it, Here is the table of contents.
