I've been doing some reading around here, I know Space Wolves are dull, but I'm trying to mash together a good 1250 list for my Space Pups. I'd love some feedback into this build and the idea of it, or if I should just go back to something more cookie cutter.

HQ

Rune Priest - 100 - Divination

ELITE

WG - TDA X5
4x SB, 1X CML, 2x PW, 2x PF, 1x CF

TROOP

1 GH (x10) 2x PLAS, WS
1 GH (x10) 2x PLAS, WS
1 GH (x10) 2x MELTA, MOTW, WS
1 GH (x10) 2x PLAS, MOTW, WS

HEAVY

LF x5 - 5X ML
+ Razorback - TL Lascannon

The idea is to bunker the RP with Divination with the WG TDA w/ CML to toss out 7 TL ML Krak every turn to support the Troop Squads with their own WG TDA attached as a leader for each unit to increase their Ld and help push them much further forward on foot. Eliminating the Drop Pods all together.

It's about as close to "spam troops" as I'm feeling I can get without getting *WAY* high in points.

The Twilight Zone

Why take a single razorback if you are footslogging? Your pretty set for AT, and the lone tank just makes target priority easier for your opponent. The points spent on the back would buy a decent lone wolf, or TDA for the rune priest and some toys elsewhere.

Chainfist may be overkill on the WG, a PF works just as well short of a furioso or land raider...

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I run something similar .... but I give each WG a SB / PF (Just taking Power Axes on them to free up more points works well too) and make them pack leaders for the GH and attach the CML WG to the unit of Long Fangs. Gives each squad a 2+ armor save to take the brunt of shooting.

On the Grey Hunters I would run x2 plas and x2 melta or all plas ... one squad of anti-tank is just going to get focused.

Drop the RB's and try to squeeze in another unit of missile fangs .... I also normally run 4 ML 1 LC for split fire Anti-Tank with the LC.

The Divination RP linked with long fangs works really well.

Things to possible trim - TB, WG down to PF or PAxes, If you really cant get the extra squad of Long Fangs MOTW (although I love MOTW).

Thanks to the both of you for the feedback. I'm mostly running the models as I wrote them here for WYSIWYG, to try to keep some semblance of that "rule" for my own army, and I don't have a great many Terminators built with a ton of different weapon options yet, although I'm going to be buying another box and slapping Frost Axes on them immediately!

I'm going to drop the Razorback as suggested. Although I was hoping to use it to slap down some key models with that big TL Las shot.

Changed my list to this reflected from the feedback. Thanks again. Really appreciate it.

Question: What makes a Frost Axe special over a Power Sword?

don't choose frost axe instead of a fist the best way to go is the free power axe or the 10 point fist I don't see who e LW will help in thislist

"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."Leman Russ

Power Swords are currently user strength (4) ap 3
Power Axes are currently +2 strength ap 2 but unwiedly

the axes allow you do be strength 6 ap 2 which up's the model's melee threat range alot - power fists are strength 8 ap 2 but double the cost.

and if your going to take a lone wolf - go TDA, CF, SS - hard as nails and will wreck MC's / Heavy Mech.
