Hello Dakka! I wanted to make a thread to show off my Orks and hopefully get some C&C
To start, My Warboss

Looks great! I cant help but shake the feeling hes laughing at something. Likely the poor sod that squig is after.

Nice painting, especially on the Warboss! The checker patterns look cool, too.
Are they Death Skulls?

Could be the photos, but. The blue looks a little flat dude. Also they look a bit clean for orks. Maybe a sepia/brown wash to bring out the detail.

Thanks, It's my own color scheme but it's similar to the Death Skulls.

It is flat tbh, I just painted a layer of Regal Blue and Hawk Turquoise (Not sure what the names are these days). Have you got any tips on how to make it less flat? And yeah, they do need a wash, Thanks for the pointers.

I have washed the Boss and the metal Nob.. Pics to come.

In the mean time.. Zagstruk (Minus his rocket pack - I'm working on a better one for him).

I love the base you've done for zagstruck . I had a similar idea, I just didn't have a spare mini. Lol.

Really liking the colour scheme. In fact I often think most of the ork colour schemes look wicked Simialr to death skulls but a bit brighter. Looks awesome. Yeh get a wash or two onto the armour and that should really bring out the levels and help prevent it looking flat.

Zagstruck does look great crashing down onto that marine Looking forward to seeing him finished.

Not yet, I've washed the Nob & Boss and I'm getting around to the rest.

I think it looks a lot better. May I ask how you painted the skin?

Of course! I painted a layer of Dark Angels Green all over the skin and then painted the raised parts with Camo Green.

Rokkit Ork washed too

The blue looks a lot better after you washed it! Maybe you could try a chipping effect on the weapons. I think it would break up the many blue areas quite nicely.

I would use a second layer of nolin oil wash for the cloths.

I agree I will try a chipping effect at some point, although I'm not confident in my ability to pull it off atm.

Hey, liking the look of your Orks so far! Nice and grubby looking, keep up the good work

Me likey, not dissimilar to my scheme. My OCD orks don't like dirty washes too much, they're too random, trouble is it takes ages to get them painted by layering, which I prefer. Some say they're unrealistic. Given that they're green adolescent space apes, that doesn't bother me too much.

I do have more painted orks than are in my gallery, mind.

And I like to think my bikers are a bit OCD I haven't actually washed them, I just gave a dusty effect round the bottom areas of the bikes

I jus have one tiny criticism, and its only a fluff issue. Ork blood is green not red, so the pink scars, while tecnically excellently executed are not accurate. They would be a pale green colour. However, free to ignore this as i am probably being pedantic. they look great as they are.

I never actually knew that Ork blood was green Although it would make sense. The Rokkit boy is supposed to be bleeding from his eye but I guess the effect isn't really accurate now
