I'm currently building henchmen army based around the theme of inquisitorial audit of a sub sector capital. The idea is that the audit consists of delegates from various imperial agencies, giving me a chance to model and field non military units which normally only show up I'm fluff, ffg's RPGs or specialist games. The mechanicum contingent will include several tech priests, a good many servitude and a handful of knights. I feel like I have a ton of leeway when it comes to modeling knights as they haven't received much modeling attention outside of some VERY old epic models and even then they were shown as being incredibly divergent in aesthetic and function. I generally only play in a very relaxed environment so modeling issues like single barrels are easily

This model started out life as a robogear T. rex, but got chopped up and put back together to be a bit more grim and dark. I hoped that it would capture some of the ungainly engineering of the old epic models but also have more of a modern aesthetic. It still needs a lot of detail work, and I think drilling the barrels will make a huge difference. C&C would be greatly appreciated.

I'd clean up the rim of the base. Either make it the lighter colour all around or make it black to match your other bases.

I have some robogear stuff I've been meaning to convert into something as well. Hmmm...

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

The base is actually just a piece of balsa wood I cut to fit so I plan on rebasing it soon when I have the chance.

Looks like a Warzone plastic infantry guy with a different head-- maybe a space marine scout head and a storm bolter created from two bolters.

Sir, I must commend your very astute eye for models.

I really like how the warzone guy looks without their big bulky back packs. I might have to build some like that.

One issue with this is that the prince august castings are done in a VERY hard plastic. Coupled with the weird angle needed because of the shoulder pads filing the really wide backpack tab off of the models torso is a real pain. I'm in the middle of doing it to 40 of them so it can be frustrating. I've also taken the picklehaub's off of the helmets to make them look less prussian. You can see the other similar models I've done so far here.

Yeah, I've been noticing how hard the plastic is as well. I've been taking off their bedrolls by getting a blade in there and actually snapping the plastic rather than cutting it. I think it's like ABS plastic or something crazy like that.

They're great for 50 cents each though. And they have nice deep recesses and paint up nice and fast.
