So I am rapidly approaching the paint stage of my Eldar and I am trying to decide on a paint scheme. I originally thought about Iyanden, but then I saw the Biel Tan and Ulthwe schemes and am torn. What do you think painters?

Do Iyanden if you have a bunch of wraith guard/lord/knights
Do Ulthwe if your running a big Seer Council
Do Biel Tan if your running Dire Avengers for troops and have a lot of aspect warriors!

I am not a huge fan of Guardians, so my army will definitely have more Aspect Warriors in it. Also, I am considering having Asurmen lead the army in larger point games if that helps.

I'm pondering the same thing!
I'm going to read a bit of the wiki fluff on the craft worlds and see if anything excites me, then see if their colour scheme excites me as much.
I love the idea of Iyanden's yellow scheme and Biel Tan scheme is also nice. Not a fan of an all black scheme as previously painting Black Templar I know how boring it gets.
Thought about creating your own?

I think part of owning an army is the creativity you put into it in making it your own. Why not use a color scheme of your choice rather than using a scheme that GW came up with? I made my entire army my own colors (aspect warriors and phoenix lords included). I understand it doesnt fit in with all the fluff but the army feels like mine and is distinct to me, rather then painting it with Iyanden colors and going toa game shop only to see 3 other armies painted the exact same way.

As much as I would love to come up with a paint scheme of my own, I would probably paint and strip it multiple times as I changed my own Craftworld colors. Lol

Go with the original color scheme from the dark ages of 40k - Lime green and purple.

I was the same. I thought about Iyanden because I like the wraithlords, but I didn't want to paint all that yellow. Then I looked at Biel Tan because I wanted to run Aspects. I decided against them because I didn't want to mess around painting vines. So I looked at the minor craftworlds and saw Iybraesil. I saw the colors, the symbol and the little bit of fluff and I was sold.

I didn't have much trouble deciding on Bieltan because I have been a fan of the green and white for a long time. But if you consider Biel Tan you will quickly ask yourself whether to paint aspects by their aspect shrine or by the army. I mostly went with the later. To some degree everyone who plays Eldar has to decide on that.
