I'm now starting to see flyers at my local club and I'm not sure how to deal with them.
As a Space marine player what options do I have and how does it work?
Are all pintle weapons anti air?
Can anything fire up and hit on a 6?

Aegis Defence line and Stormtalons are your best bet I think.
Ordnance can't do AA IIRC.

Template weapons and blast weapons may not target flyers.
Aegis line and Stormtalons are probably your best bets.

You should wait a month or so
Space Marines will be getting one or two AA-rhino's.

Pictures can be found in the News&Rumor-section, they look quite awesome in my opinion.

We've a friendly tournament starting in a few weeks and don't generally allow new codex once its started. This leaves me with what is available now Automatically Appended Next Post: So if not template or blast, my MLs and lascannons could be used? Hell even a bolter?

Are allies allowed? Might find more luck with Guard or Tau allies.

Probably otto wait for a month for the new Spess marhen codex to come out. they have some sick anti air tank that seems to have promise.
otherwise Double Auto cannon dreads, ADL quad gun, and Forge world is your few options.
Also getting lucky on mysterious terrain.

If you can use allies and have the models to do so then you may as well. Trying to understand your army is pointless as the new codex is being released and everything may change.

Just to answer your question. Yes boltguns, missile launchers, and anything that is not a blast or template may choose to fire snap shots at air units, and may only fire snap shots Automatically Appended Next Post: Unless it has skyfire special rule

Well intersti g idea my friend came up with......
4 ML/las devastators with librarian with prescience.
Should get at least 1-2 hits. Not reliable, but useable.

Have you tried running a Storm Talon? Relatively cheap and if there's no fliers in your opponent's list, it can be quite a nuisance in its own right.

Well you have an option of 2 diff fliers or you can do the aegis defense line. The storm talons are pretty cool I like to run three of them on occasion.

Use a dev. armed with only lascannons. It's expensive and will not hit often but you should get a few hits on fliers and when they do hit, they hurt. They also still devastate regular armour.
