The dark God’s works were complex, plans had been in motion for millennia webs within labyrinths within riddles that none but the great lord of Change himself could comprehend. But on occasion something new would enter play that was not accounted for. Occasionally a morsel would be found that could tip the scales in favor of the great one’s plans. Prince Valosh had stumbled upon such a wondrous find. His forces had been part of a small incursion onto a pathetic mortal world, going largely unnoticed the great prince had lead his troops in the slaughtering of many hapless humans, their true warriors far too busy with the other races vying for the planet to take notice. But then he caught a scent on the wind unlike any other on the planet thus far. The undeniable sweetness of Eldar flesh, intrigued Valosh sought out these new arrivals, following them as they moved about the planet. Patiently he had waited for the perfect moment to strike but fortunately the work was done for him. The pathetic Eldar had been overrun but the brutish orks. While they ran for the hills hoping to avoid their inevitable destruction Valosh saw his chance to seize his prize. An Eldar psyker, young but still brimming with power. He would do perfectly for his plans.
Chaos, their could be no other who had done this of that Niena was certain. Arwin‘s body had been stolen from the battlefield, for what reason she could not say, but their stench was unmistakable. Following the trail of filth they had left Niena quickly lead the war host across the war torn planet. Soon enough they found what they were looking for, hidden away in a valley stood a shrine to the dark gods, hideous and propane. At it’s center lay Arwin, his body placed with seeming care though for what reason Niena could not say. Arrayed around the valley were corrupt marines, long since turned their back upon their cause they were beyond even the respect that humans deserved. Knowing that whatever ritual the dark ones had planned must not reach its conclusion Niena moved the host into the valley without delay

The battle
Spoiler:
The opening fulsade was unexpectedly successful, the warriors of chaos were clustered within the forests and thus made easy targets for the heavy prism cannons. Exarch Duras proved his skills as well easily slaying another handful of the hideous warriors. Wasting no time the two transports moved towards the chaos shrine where ‘s body was laid. Thier covering fire found it’s mark on the heavy obliterators before they could line up shots slaying two in a storm of laser fire.
The return fire was a meer pittace when compared to waht the war host had done already. A small handful of laz cannon blasts spent themselves uselessly on the fore most transports shields doing little damage.
Elated at the inferior counter attacks, Niena was weary still. The chaos leader had yet to reveal himself neither had their heavy air support. Either of those elements could easily turn the battle against the eldar. As such her main concerns were to eliminate the remaining chaos forces on the field, and to minimize the damage their reinforcements could do. To that effect Exarch Akamon arrived with his brood, a daring warp jump put them within perfect striking distance at the heart of the chaos lines their rifles spinning death amongst the chaos ranks. Not to be outdone Duras and his reapers followed suite utterly annihilating the chaos heavy weapons in a single salvo.
“Farseer....” Exarch Meeran’s voice was faint his proximity to the shrine was hampering communications, “we have him Farseer...” was all that Niena could make out of the garbled transmission.
Valosh soared above the battle field expecting to see his warriors having already swept the pathetic eldar from the valley leaving the choicest kills for him. Unfortunatly the reality was far different. His warriors were all but routed from the field with only a single obliterator remaining under heavy fire. To make matters worse not a single eldar had been slain, furious he swooped down intending to at least crush the skull of the eldar leading this attack. Swooping down he saw the woman cowering in a nearby woods her psychic aura too delicious to ignore.
Khaine was certainly with the war host this day even after the chaos air forces arrived not a single eldar had been lost. Now was the time to finish the battle, the great demon prince flew above Niena hungrily circling. Knowing that their would only be one chance to take down both the prince as well as the flier. Thankfully with the guidance of Niena Akamon and his spider brood destroyed the chaos flier in a spectacular fireball. That left only the deamon prince, directing the remaining warhost’s fire a storm of shuriken fire rose and swatted the demon prince from the sky. Having expected this Niena was already in motion leaving the outcasts in their position running towards the crater left by the princes meteoric descent. TAking advantage of the stunned prince Niena hurled her spear with every ounce of strength.
Valosh had underestimated the pathetic eldar, their storm of fire was nothing more than pinpricks to his thick hide, but those pricks had quickly added up, bleeding from a dozen such wounds his wings shredded Valosh fell from the sky. His only satisfaction was the sight of the pathetic farseer rushing towards where he would land, she would indeed make a fine last meal.
The vile prince never saw the spear coming, it flew straight and true ending the wretched creatures life splitting his head in half. As the Great demon fell a great crack ran through the valley and a wave of magical backlash erupted from the shrine the ritual dissipating as the princes power fled back to the warp.
Results and ending fluff
Spoiler:
Chaos tabled Eldar Victory
Niena watched as the names of the dead were carved in the hall of the fallen each name one by one as their bodies moved past. Most all of the craftworld was in attendance standing silently along the small observation decks heads bowed in respect for the fallen. FInally the time came when was brought through his name intoned by the head autarch and name carved alongside all those who fell in battle. Niena felt tears coming down her face, she had lost apprentices before but somehow this one stung far more. Arwin was killed not due to the random fates of war but to her own overconfidence and pride.Arwin’s was the last name called and afterwards the ancient farseer Davoth stood to speak to the craftworld.
“It is with great sorrow that we greet the warhost whenever they return, for they bring with them the bodies of our fallen.” His voice range through the assembled hall rich with wisdom and knowledge of a man who has seen much of the universe. “But this day we may also have a point of pride and even joy upon this return. For the list of dead this day is slim and the enemies they have left upon the field are many. I know it difficult to look upon the corpses of our brothers and sisters, but as you look upon the names enshrined here always know that their sacrifices have kept this craftworld safe from those who would destroy us, and for that alone we shall bow our heads in reverence this day.” With that the farseer stepped down almost immediately enveloped by his attendants. The hall remained silent as the onlookers slowly left returning to their lives. Niena moved across the hall intercepting the as he left.
“Well said Davoth, your speech was moving indeed. The old man merely smiled and held out his arm for Niena to grasp.
“I have the easy portion my dear, I must simply mourn their loss. You were with them on the field when they died.” Together they left the hall slowly walking, “My condolences for the loss of your apprentice, do you mean to take another?” Niena paused at the question, she had not had the time to consider such a possibility yet.
“No.” She finally answered, “I believe I will leave the teaching to those like you Davoth , you may educate the next generation without risking their loss.” He nodded,
“As you wish Niena, I assume you intend to continue leading the host into battle as well?” Niena nodded
“Someone must we still have many adversaries waiting for us.” Again he nodded,
“Then as always this craftworld is in your debt child, you have stepped forward where no one else has and what's more you have succeeded.” Niena felt a small tinge of pride at this comment, Few farseer chose the path of war preferring quiet contemplation on the skeins of time and fate.
“Khaine still has use of me Master, I cannot ignore the call.”
“True, but for now you must rest child, no war is brewing at the moment, rest and enjoy the peace you have worked so hard to provide for the rest of us.” Niena nodded, indeed peace was here but the universe was a tumultuous place and war the warriors of the craftworld would be needed once more, Niena planned on being beside them whenever that day next came.
Final thoughts
Spoiler:
Overall a good game for me, really I think Eldar shine against MEQ these days without easy ability to negate their armor values as well as the toughness of our vehicles overall. While his helldrake didn't have a flamer on it for some reason it was good practice spreading out and preparing for the char broiled death.Just got in my new models so the list will finally change a little (replace the rangers with bikes and add some hawks) so we’ll see how they turn out next week.

Come watch me and my friends play good games poorly on Boss Room Ahead
Chaos is just under powered, sadly. Look at all the battle reports which include Chaos Space Marines, way too often they get tabled or the Chaos player has to concede at turn 3 because there's just no way he's going to win.
But really nice that you spend so much time on this report - very structured.

Not sure i agree fully. I recently played my friends chaos army while he played his strong tau list with a farseer and 3 jetbikes, and it started out looking very grim but I ended up winning on killpoints since i just had too many threats and only one of them was enough to turn the tide. I played a very agressive list with maulerfiend+demon prince and spawns. All of these were the faster direct threat he had to deal with and then I had Typhus+zombies creeping up.
Anyways that was my first game with chaos versus a very talented player who played tau+eldar which so many claims to be the "op" codices right now.
Nice whooping from the eldar though and I like the list
Chaos players need to make better lists... the eldar player had all his power units on the table, Chaos had a prince, a drake with the wrong weapon and oblits... the rest was crap for this game.
But the codex is indeed crappy when you see Tau, Eldar and even Deamons altough they are limited in competitve builds.

You have ruled this galaxy for ten thousand years
Yet have little of account to show for your efforts
Order. Unity. Obedience.
We taught the galaxy these things
I'll agree that his list was pretty meh overall, but I don't think chaos has absolutely nothing to offer. Played this same guy again for my next bat rep. He ran a slanesh gun line with lots of ignore cover noise marines behind an aegis and a real hell turkey. Sure it was a really boring match as he just sat and shot, but at least I didn't table him.

Of course they have some possibilities if you mention Plague Marines, Noise Marines and Heldrakes. But those Berzerkers and Possessed Marines... Well... But then again... They're just minor units like Cultists, right?

Well thats a bit rich coming from an eldar player .
As to the chaos list Deamon Prince of Tzench- MoT,Power armor, Black mace, Wings (Warlord trait-Soulblaze) This is ok- most csm players realized that without other significant threats and how easy it is to ground a fmc these are real glass cannons. They are 260+ points without EW and are hard to keep alive after they charge and nuke something and then get left standing out in the open They also have no synergy with the rest of our slow footslogging lists. (Cd codex makes it allllll better- take a csm detachment and have some fun: csm really do make a great detachment- im csm but if i played crons or cd id take a heldrake, a lord mok aobf slogging with 20 cultists and 3 mon oblits simply awesome.)
Obliterators x3- MoT Make em MoN- theyll last longer
Helldrake-Autocannon (actually didn't realize it didn't have a flamer till it came on) flamer next time The autocannon isnt bad at all, its just the flamer is silly good.
Chaos Havocs x10-4 Laz cannons, MoT MoT + las is a waste- they do 1 t4 3+ and you lose like 50+ points worth of gear. Generally people grab 5- 10 havoks with 4 autocannons. Cheap and hits alot until they are wiped off the board. (at which point you arent to concerned) Good chance at making their points back. If you want lascannons take preds with autocannon and LC sponsons. Cheaper and more surv.
Chaos Marines x10-MoN, icon of vengence, 2x plasma gun You dont need fearless or IoV anymore. What makes csm competitive is we can keep our meq cheap.
Chaos Marines x10- 2x Laz cannons, Icon of vengeance IoV issue- its not needed witht he high ld. If theyre gonna go out of their way to really go after these guys they are gonna die anyways. 2 lascannons is illegal
Id try and stick to our strengths in the codex- Lords- dirt cheap cc spec, sorcs- invis/tele, bikes, plague marines with 2 plasma, preds, mon oblits, heldrakes, spawn, vanilla inexpensive csm troopies, some people swear by maulerfiends, helbrutes are pretty cheap, small termicide is still decent. If your using heldrakes stay fairly hidden until they start turning up. The deamon prince is fine but youll want more terrain to hide behind and also you cant leave him out on his own vs eldar.
