Subject: Alternative paint scheme for my Blood Angels to make them dark or vanilla with small effort?

Hello. I have a quite big Blood Angels army, but have not been playing with them that much lately as they basically are not that good in 6th edition. I also have a big ravenwing army from DA and like them a lot. So i have a ton of BA painted up in the original chapter colors of BA and loads of ravenwing black bikers, so as the new vanilla codex is coming in a month or so, i was thinking of altering both armies color schemes slightly to make my own chapter colors. I was thinking only like painting the shoulder pads a different color, but what color would work well with red or black armor? So i would like to hear from you a good idea for altering the BA red power armor and ravenwing black armor with not much effort (so i can quickly paint around 6000pts) in a month or so and not paint the whole armor again. Also if you have a good idea for a chapter name, feel free to share
My own idea was maybe get a color to unite the two armies, or just paint the BA shoulders black and paint the ravenwing shoulders red and say the bike division has the colors turned opposite?

6000pts eh WOW. Thats a nice amount of painting :p
Automatically Appended Next Post: You can do whatever you want in the end. If I read correctly you have a bunch painted and you want to alter there colour without fully repainting?

Yes... everything is fully painted, so am just thinking of making a different color shoulder pads, or something other to distinguish them from blood angels or ravenwing, so that i can wield them as whatever marines when i feel like it without my opponent grinding his teeth too much by looking at blood angels, but playing vanilla and vice versa. 2000 pts is in ravenwing and over 4000 in the BA, but i have loads of tanks and expencive HQ choises that i rarely use at the same time Basically can make a good 2500 pts BA list, so not that many marines even

You could do black, red and green. the BA paint with black shoulders, the Ravenwing give red shoulders and throw in some green trim wherever you feel looks apropriate. with that they could be almost any chapter out there and you do minimal painting.

Yea that honestly seems like the best way to go Automatically Appended Next Post: Thats a pretty big job. Time would be nice to save by making it as simple as possible.

you could change the trim on the bikes to red, change the panels on the bangles to black, and the light beige bits on the front of some of the bikes could get the hazard striping.
I think adding black to the bangles would probably get these guys pretty close to a similar scheme right from the off.
