I have a few questions about the NDK, what is the optimal load out.
I heard it was all or none on another post but id like more opinions about it.
Would it be worth it in an allied contingent just to get 1?
If i main GK taking 3 gets expensive and doesnt leave many points for a fire base. Would 2 be good to take?

I feel that it is a very strong metagame choice at the moment. It is one of the very few options in the entire game with an AP2 Force Weapon, let alone at I4. As such, I think the Greatsword is a very important upgrade, with it adding an attack and bringing the consistency of the unit through the roof.
In my opinion, the best load-out is Greatsword, Heavy Incinerator, Personal Teleporter. However, only bring this unit if you are gonna be able to threaten your opponent with most of your list on turn 1. Otherwise, they will take it out piecemeal.

If you look at it in the opposite way, what should you NOT take?
The Heavy Psycannon is rather crappy. For that price its not impressive at all.
I rather have a normal psycannon on him, that would score the same amount of hits on horde (if they are spread out) and alot more damage on a singel model and tanks.
The Pcilencer is horrible. The only good thing is the look. If you killed termagants the whole game with it you wouldnt get the points back.
And how likly is it that you face deamons? Even if you face deamons, its not that über.
The incinerator on the other hand is a torrent weapon wich is great. In combination with the shunt move you have a template you can place anywhere withing 42".
Thats a huge threatzone meaning your opponent must spread out alot. The damage is good and toy dont need to roll to hit. Lowes price too. Take it!
The Hammer is a joke. Now that the powerfists gives you str 10 theres no real reason for the hammer, and it looks stupid.
Just 2 fists are rather good, saves you some points. And it gives you an extra attack and str 10.
The sword on the other hand is amazing! There is no other weapon in the game this good. And for only 25p? Str 10, reroll hit, reroll wound, reroll armour pen and its a force weapon. Take it!
The teleport kit is really expensive but well worth it. You can have him walking up the field with dubble guns but you need to get him in combat quick.
This lets you get there one turn earlier. Lets you chose who to fight and gives you the charge. Also, the shunt move is super nice to make a surprice attack, support a weak flank or grab an objective. (with Grandmaster buff)
You can also try him naked, just walk up and try to pick a fight or soak some fire.

I run mine with Incinerator and Sword, and strap the teleporter on if I've got the points lying around.
He absorbs an insane amount of gunfire from my regular opponents, who are terrified of the guy (I call him Derek). One game he took a volley of at least 10 Krak missiles (2 Devastator Squads and 2 Tactical Squads, all rolled at once because my opponent wasn't optimistic about taking him down, and there wasn't really anything else tasty in range) he shrugged off the lot. Enough Krak Missiles to down most things, and he just stood there, and psychically extended the middle finger.
I do tend to run him with the teleporter these days, even if it means leaving something else back on the Battle Barge. In your face turn one, soaking up all the gunfire that would otherwise be squishing my Strike Squads, allowing them to walk up to the enemy and administer the Enema of Doom (It involves a Daemonhammer, and it's best not to ask)
The Greatsword is the single greatest piece of kit in the GK armoury. S10, reroll everything. What's not to like? I've bust open Land Raiders, brought a Bastion tumbling down, taken out entire Terminator Squads in one swing. He's even tagged a few Chaos Lords in his time. The Bane of his existance is that damn Murder Sword from C:CSM. If he gets nominated as it's target, try to stay away. Oh, and Plasma, so he's not the greatest of friends with Ravenwing Black Knights...

Dreadknights are awesome, pure and simple. The incinerator is fantastic, sword is pretty good, but honestly all you need is for one wound to get through and you can ID your opponent. Every "normal" enemy will be eaten alive by the DK in cc, so I personally have found I don't need the sword. I know people hate on the Psilencer, but look at it like this: Monstrous creatures can fire two weapons in a single shooting phase. You can't double up on the Incinerator, and the Psilencer is 30 points. It's S4 AP5, so it's basically a bolter, but can wound Daemons (great unclean one with Iron Arm) or Nids, etc. on a 4+ regardless. Oh, and it's 12 freakin shots. You're getting a tactical squad's worth of shooting for 30 points. I've used the Psilencer/Incinerator combo and have shot my opponent to pieces with it. If I run him with both guns, I usually don't give him the teleporter. March up midfield and and pop caps.

As per the 6th edition rules, DCCW work for MCs as well, and the rules for the sword states you can reroll all hits and wounds if you have it, not just if you are using it. Thus, you can attack with the DCCW and use the rerolls from the sword: S10 with rerolls.

I've been running them since 5th in this combination and order of upgrades. HeavyIncinerator > Personal Teleporter > Greatsword > Everything else.
Stock with HIs has a place, 160pts for a 2+/5++ MC with a S6/AP4 Torrent weapon, take two at 1000pts and see the look on your opponents. Face.
Add the PT to devastate something T2, works best in pairs shunted on a flank. The extra mobility is amazing if your survive and get to reap chaos T2.
Add the Sword to make a CC monster, very few things scare you. Beware the Mind Shackle Scarabs.

I do not play GK, but am terrified of these things. PT, great sword, and HI is the way to go on these things. With this loadout they can wade through hordes or annihilate elite units. They are one of the few powerhouses that can work with just 1, but I would recommend 2 or 3.

Also, don't completely write off the power of Dark Excommunication. Daemons are one of the more popular armies right now, and the power really comes in handy against them, particularly when they have Iron Arm (making the Force Weapon less useful).

Sword, Teleporter, and choice of either Psycannon or Incinerator. Usually Incinerator although I have gotten some surprising use out of the Psycannon. It is a Str7 rending large blast, which can make marines and termies nervous.

We have a local GK player that regularly takes down local tourneys and does well in larger ones. He uses the NDK with ONLY a Heavy Incinerator. No sword, no teleporter. They are brutal. He tank fire up front, act as counter assault for his GKs and henchmen, flames the gak out of scoring units and generally is awesome. And scores in Big Guns. I feel they fill a similar role without all of the upgrades and its better to keep them cheap.
Again, to quote another person above, I am terrified of these things.

The WraithKnight is, as we all know, a touch on the large side. But is it possible to 'hide' one behind a Dreadknight?
I quite like the idea of my (possibly soon to be purchased) Wraithknight getting a cover save because the baby carrier is covering a shin...

If you want to max out your heavy support with 'em, run them straight up with a heavy incinerator. They'll walk in, absorb tons of fire, and may just get to flame something before they go down themselves. They will draw a hellish amount of agro though, freeing up your other elements to do their thing relatively unmolested.
I tend to prefer to run a couple with the Teleporter, Greatsword, and Incinerator. Shunt + auto-hit + ignore cover + str 6 Ap-4 is just a nightmare for those marine scouts, tau, etc that just love to shoot from a distance and never get involved in anything resembling a slugfest (which GK excel at). Not to mention it puts it in a prime location to assault the ever-loving deity out of whatever you'd prefer the next turn if they survive until then.
What i'll do with the above configuration is run them alongside a modrak bomb and a unit or two (combat squaded usually) worth of interceptors. having the vast majority of your army in your opponents deployment zone by the end of turn 1 often = ' gg' Toss in some long-ranged support in the form of a psi-dread or two and Coteaz along with a couple of space-monkey henchmen squads and you have yourself a durable list that can do itself justice to most things.
Psycannon is sadly too expensive, and Psilencer is just rubbish 'and' too expensive.

Unlikely,
My interpretation is 25% of surface area, and I think it would be iffy to get 25% behind the Dreadknight, but any angles from other directions will make it nigh impossible.

To clarify you can't get strng 10 hits WITH the sword, it's either regular strng force weapon ap2 or strng 10 ap2
I like just the sword on him, 35 for rerolls to hit wound and penetrate is a deal. Teleported is too expensive unless you really dedicate your army to being that offensive. It's just too many points in one model even at 1500 I feel.
don't be afraid to try it naked or with just the sword. Take another with the points you save. They soak up so much firepower.

Per the GK FAQ, a DreadKnight with Great Sword attacks at Str 10 with re-rolls, due to the current wording for DCCW (Doomfist) and the Great Sword's special rules.
