Well, maybe not blow your mind, but it is interesting. According to Map 14 Russia and Europe have had enough to drink, and should call a taxi.

IDK, saying the US doesn't use the metric system is a little dishonest. We use it for the things that matter. It doesn't really matter what our road signs or cooking recipes are using.

Not sure how I feel about the map of highest paid state employees. Also, Ludacris has a hoe (or hoes) in my area code. . . yay?

I liked the highest paid state employee, population by latitude/longitude, and the there are more people that live Inside this circle than outside. Thanks for this pretty cool to see. Also liked the lightning strike one.

Map number 23 was interesting. Imagine everyone in the world living in an area the size of Texas with the population density of Paris. That's pretty mind blowing.
Thanks for sharing this.

No, it's entirely honest.
There is no legal requirement for paid maternal/paternal leave in the US.
From your link:
The FMLA entitles eligible employees of covered employers to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.

Yes, but many places DO offer it.
Its not like nobody offers paid maternity.

I can name on one hand the jobs that I have had in the last 16 years that even had a realistic possibility of letting you build up 480 hours of the right kind of leave. And I could still do that if I cut off 4 of my fingers on that hand.
But your job is not required to pay you for a single day of it, if they choose to refuse to pay you a single cent they have the full backing of the law. Any paid leave is there because an employer decided to provide it, not because the employee is entitled to it.

No one is going to mention that there are only 22 countries in the world that Britain hasn't invaded?
That is crazy. I knew they invaded a lot of areas back in the heyday of the British empire, but I had no idea they were THAT busy

MY favourite map has to be the chinese literal translations of country names - France being called Lawlland I found particularly humourous , yes china the rest of the world agrees with you.
I also liked the most common name in dutchland being de Jong , now I don't know about real dutch but in Afrikaaner , Jong means "young" or "stupid" from what I've heard, nothing like having the most common name mean stupid, maybe I'm with stupid shirts in the netherlands really mean something.

Yeah, that map is pretty fishy. I buy my vodka in 750mL bottles and then take 500mG tylenol tablets the next day. Meanwhile, British people know their weight in stone and ounces, drive their cars in miles per hour, and measure things in inches.
Come to think of it, several of those maps are actually somewhat misleading. For example, the map of McDonalds somewhat obscures the fact that fewer than half of the world's countries have one, while the bribery one only looks at bribes that americans paid to foreigners and then got caught for, and, as mentioned with the maternity, a lack of it being mandatory is not the same as doesn't happen. Oh, and it's easy for a football coach to be highly paid when there are so few of them in such an otherwise large industry. If there were as few teachers as there were coaches, you better believe they'd get paid more.
That said, some of them are pretty neat. I especially like the "travel in a straight line by sea" map.
