In the physical CSM codex it says that blight grenades are assault and defensive grenades. Assault grenades are listed in the BRB as S3, AP-, Assault 1 and blast.

However in the iPad version, blight grenades are listed as S6, AP4, assault 1 ( no blast ). Basically the same stats as krak grenades but certainly different from Assault grenades.

Have I missed something in the physical codex or is the iPad one wrong?

Ok after looking through my CSM Codex I see that Plague Marines have both Blight Grenades AND Krak grenades, so it's very possibly the krak profile is under the blight index..

No, they are specifically used against vehicles in your assault phase, you have to declare you are substituting your attacks with Krak Grenades, then you use the profile for the Krak Grenades instead of your weapon load out and model's characteristics.

No, Assault Grenades are a defined type on page 61. Krak Grenades are a defined type on page 62. They are not the same thing.

I have come to terms with the chaos codex being poorly written and worded, but I think their original effort in the wording was as this

"-Counts as both assault and defensive grenades."

To which I have to assume they meant it counts as both TYPES of assault grenades (being Krak AND Frag) and also being Defensive.

Assault Grenades are their own type of grenade (see Grenades pg61), distinct from Plasma, Haywire, Defensive, Krak and Melta. Many of these can be used in an assault, but that does not make them an 'Assault Grenade'.

Typhus is actually the model I was looking at. He only has blight, not krak.

I just noticed that in the iPad version, in the glossary they are S6 AP4 assault 1, in the glossary/popup rules, but in the ranged weapon profiles they are listed as S3 AP- assault 1 blast...

Which is it? Can i just choose?!

The thread already answers the s6 profile is incorrect...

It's my codex and I'll cry If I want to.
