The Hadross pit fighters look terrible. Looks like someone cut the heads off the toys from the aquarium souvenir shop and glued them to bodies.
You know, I hadn't really paid attention to them till you said that, but wow, they really do. Now that I look at them, it really is just a sharkish head on a 'roided out body. That's disappointing.
Aren't all of the Goritsi wolves, werewolves? I mean not trying to be a smartass, Goritsi aren't really my thing, so I've not paid them much attention.
Honestly I adore the sharkmen, and I really love their aesthetic. To each their own! I will definitely be working on a Hadross army made up of sharks and shellfish once they're available.

Some people were speculating that it was Shael Han, for some reason. Goritsi does have those "wolves" with the Packmaster, so I suppose they aren't all werewolves in their army.

Ohhhh okay gotcha. No, I can confirm from first-hand having spoken with the designers, that thing is Goritsi.

I couldn't agree with that statement anymore as I dig Dark Age very much. But, it is next to impossible to find people who play the game and it's just as hard to grow a community when they are already a ton of established out on the market right now.

Back in May, at the CMON Expo, we talked about the Organized Play (or OP) kits we were planning for Wrath Of Kings. Well, we are ver happy to announce that Aaron and the lovely folks at Battle Bin are currently packing up our OP kits, and they’ll be delivered to us just after Gencon. We are very excited!
THE CONTENTS OF THE TWO WRATH OF KINGS OP KITS
We have two OP Kits for Wrath Of Kings – Kit #1 and Kit #2 – so that we can switch up a few things in the kits to add variety to your prizes in-store. Once we know the rate we’ll be going through the OP kits, we’ll be able to better plan more variety, but we think these are starting out pretty well.
IN EVERY KIT:
In both of the kits you will find:
WOK_Pins
• 10 x 1″ pins – we have 2 pins for each of the 5 factions in Wrath Of Kings.
WOK_Certificates_Flat
• 3 Certificates of Victory. These can be personalized by the Event Organizer to recognize any sort of achievement from the event.
SPECIFIC TO A KIT:
These items are found in either Kit #1 OR Kit #2
WOK_Heart_Tokens
• 12 Heart/Wound tokens – the same as those used in our Arcadia Quest boardgame (Kit #1)
WOK_Markers
• 12 Morale tokens from Battle Bin – these can be used to keep track of your army’s Morale during a game (Kit #2)
WOK_PostcardPack1_flat
• Three packets of 5 Art Cards, featuring the concept art from a few of our favorite factions (Kit #1)
WOK_OPCards1_Flat
• One Organized Play Card (in a pack of 12), this card is designed for use specifically in Organized Play events (Kit #1)
WOK_OPCards2_Flat
• One Organized Play Card (in a pack of 12), this card is designed for use specifically in Organized Play events (Kit #2)
So there you have it. They’ve been a long time coming, but after Gencon, they’ll be in our warehouse and ready to send out into the world. Please let your friends, gaming buddies, clubs, and local stores know about these. We’ll post again once they are available.
hopefully this will increase the presence of WoK in US game stores (and thus increase the amount of stuff CMON can make for it)

Yeah, I am loving this game. Got myself the 2-player starter, goritsi starter, core book, and have done some good trades here for this game. I love the mechanic. IT is scratching the skirmish itch greatly, I want to see more for it as well!

Our apologies, Arikanians. We've been fairly quiet of late. We've been hard at work, wrapping up projects, preparing for new projects, and trying to get things squared away. The two main things that we'd like to announce today, however, are:
1) Following some family health issues, our UK distributor (for Dark Age and Wrath of Kings) will not be able to continue in that role past October. Our sales director is working hard to find us a new distributor in the UK. We have contact details and are arranging meetings, and hope to have something sorted out and great news to announce in the next month or so. We thank all UK-based Arikanians for your patience.
2) We are returning to the Beasts of War studios! Bryan and Dave are heading over to talk with the guys next week. The bulk of their recording will be videos for a Wrath of Kings Week and following series, they'll also be filming a few new Dark Age vids (our Sci-Fi skirmish game). Should be a great time!
Have a great weekend : )

Well, it has been a bit quiet in here, but, here's some news:
The January Releases Are Here!
January 13th, 2017 admin
The Celestial Gatekeepers and Tricksters have been much anticipated, the models are wonderful, and their rules make them exciting additions to Shael Han armies across Arikania. These are the first of the Shael Han units from the Wrath of Kings: Rising Conflicts book to be released.
To find these releases in the CoolMiniOrNot webstore, simply click on their names in the post below.
Celestial Gatekeepers (2)
Stalwart and powerful, the Celestial Gatekeepers are tireless guardians of Shael Han’s holy places. They have been summoned to the battlefield to protect all of the House’s territories as a whole, sprinting forward blindingly fast to crush foes in their armor-shattering jaws.
Highly detailed plastic miniatures
This box of Rank 1 Specialists are a great addition to any Shael Han force.
The Celestial Gatekeepers are excellent guardians and will be best used escorting Leaders or important units to their targets.
Box contains: two (2) Celestial Gatekeeper models, two (2) 50mm bases, and their Wrath of Kings unit cards.
WOK03012 Celestial Tricksters (2)
The laughing children of misdirection and malicious pranks, the Celestial Tricksters of House Shael Han use magical manipulation and illusionary influences to slay their enemies with madness and frustrating lunacy.
Highly detailed plastic miniatures
This box of Rank 1 Specialists are a great addition to any Shael Han force.
The Celestial Tricksters are maliciously mischievous and use their Will-based attacks to cause opponents to strike themselves or others, and to lead enemy models around the table against their wishes.
Box contains: two (2) Celestial Trickster models, two (2) 30mm bases, and their Wrath of Kings unit cards.

Hadross looks pretty good. I hope they have a battle report with them to show them in action.
They also did one for Shael Han
I'm really intrigued by this faction, as its the more strategic army. Its built for synergy between units, as you can buff soldiers without using inspire, and they tend to work well in groups. Looking at the rules for Legionaries, it seems that by themselves they aren't great, but they begin to shine when in range of a leader and in a combined activation. How big are the models? Its not clear. Is it 30mm scale?

It's 32mm, I think.
I play Shael Han, and they're tons of fun working with the buffs between units. For example, I usually keep a two-deep line of Dragon Legionnaires with a Keeper and a Shield of Taelfon. Wince you get to pick Defensive Enlightenments after the results of the attack have been generated, you get to choose your buff between the leader or the specialist to suit the situation. So they're an incredibly tough defensive line, especially with their own Healing Vapors ability.
Seeing this thread reminded me that i have box full och the complete kickstarter range in my cellar.
Some of my favorites designs ever and the miniatures looks so good on the store and videos.
And it makes me sad, because i think they must be quality resin casts.
Because the plastic version you get is not this sharp and detailed and it makes it really not fun to paint for me.
Really sad about this:(
Good designs like these deserve high quality metal or resin casts! And its really sad to showcase the resin master cast in the store when its not what you are getting in my opinion.
I have a hard time getting over it still........

The restic plastics actually were pretty detailed and hold paint well. I wouldn't judge the minis too much until you slap some paint on them. I've seen several armies fully painted, and they turned out display quality (a bit cartoony, but that's the style).

Yeah, they are okey i guess..
I just had really high hopes, i was looking at this as the new confrontation by rackham.
They were miniatures with such quality that you were proud of every single one. Since wrath of kings had some of the same artists as rackham had, i thought this was it! My new thing to fall in low with.
Its probably my fault more then anything. I should have known when they said it was plastic. But it was my first kickstarter.
I have painted a few, but it is just not the same....
I cant paint them with pleasure...
Rackham miniatures used to be all over forums, coolminiornot, painting competitions etc, but these you dont see anywhere, seems like no pro painter get exited by these.

I still disagree. I feel the plastics are pretty good for what they use, what they cost, and the designs they use. Compare Relic Knights' first releases, Mantic's Deadzone 1.0, or any other similar restic figures and I think you'll find a big difference. It becomes much more apparent when you start looking at larger figures as well.
Far as I can tell, there really is NOTHING like what Wrath of Kings brings to the table design- wise. It's a very unique, very Rackham (obviously) style. I'm just happy they're continuing to support it.
I'd much rather continue purchasing unique looking figures that are reasonably priced for a material that can actually survive being played with. Especially if you have kids around.
Hadross gets a lot of love in my home. Nobody else puts out fishmen quite like what they've got!
I would suggest looking at some of the post- Kickstarter figures for a faction that interests you. There's been some very nice releases.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
