I put in for the rulebook and GenCon exclusive figures. I'll get the cards later, as I need them.

But it's still cheaper than a GenCon ticket + hotel and airfare, assuming you only want GenCon exclusives.

If you order anything from wyrd prepare to wait until like November to get it, they're notoriously slow getting things out after GenCon.

Its not a bad thing, but it is definitely something to worry about. The warehouse guys work their butts off at GenCon with booth setup and teardown and moving product. Then when they get back they will immediately start on orders made during GenCon as well as orders from flgs, and then normal orders from their online store as they come in normally. Add through the breach on top of that, and I don't envy the warehouse guys at all :-D

I'll be curious to see how the tournaments go.

Sounds like the books and arsenal decks are selling out at Gencon and online (no surprises there), and yeah, the warehouse will probably be swamped. I believe they mentioned that NO shipments would be going out until wednesday, but that they'd strive to get everything out ASAP.

That said, it's worth weighing out, especially now that we're a couple of days of ordering down. There's a non-zero risk that between the weight of orders ahead of us and quantity limitations, some people will probably get their stuff after it starts hitting retail at the end of September.

Good luck to anyone who braves their delivery system. Between paying full MSRP and spicy S&H costs, I'll be waiting for retail, if I end up getting the book and arsenal deck at all (still a very low priority in my crew).

Would of loved NM Tara as I play ressers/outcasts but cant afford at mo! :(

As for the book/cards I'm more than happy to wait till retailers get them!

Need more 's in my life!

Like if any big changes were made between the end of the open beta and the release.

Does anyone know if there will be any form of Tara released later, or was this our only chance at getting her?

I believe there will be a normal release for Tara at some point, but it won't be for a while. The models will be redone as the Nightmare Editions are exclusive to GenCon.

There will be a normal release for Tara, but it's liable to not be until next year considering she is a phase 2 Master.

That's good. I was going to say, having a convention-exclusive master is pretty ridiculous.

The booth at GenCon for these guys was impressive! Right in the center of the hall, too.

According to Wyrd, regular Tara will be released late 2014, possibly after the next Gencon.

They've said their production facilities may be able to slip her in before then, but that was the current lineup.

There isn't a O.o big enough to fully capture my response to this revelation, but I don't play Outcasts, so it's purely academic for me.

I agree, Forar. I'm honestly hoping the standard one is as epic as the exclusive.

I'm still holding out hope that they'll make a plastic Teddy though, as that's the model that got me into the game.

That doesn't suprise me as Wyrd focus the whole year on Gencon and build up to it, then suffer shipping problems for a month or afterwards.

Talk to the right guys on their forums and it can last until November .

I walked passed their booth right at the cusp of 10 on Thursday, and WizKids had a longer line. Shame really as Wyrd's booth was about double the size of last year's, which was like double the size of the year before.

Shame about the shipping. That Nightmare Tara box is one of the first box sets Wyrd have put out where I like all the models. Hopefully the normal one is just as epic.

International shipping to the UK seems to be $10, so this is becoming tempting.

O.o

I call bs on that. I bought Pandora's box and a Black Blood Shaman and still payed 9.50 in shipping to get it from Atlanta, Georgia to Cleveland, Ohio...
Er well I call outrage... If that shipping is correct, they've found a loophole to cause Americans to pick up some of the shipping costs for overseas.

That's what it's showing on the checkout page. Perhaps if I went further on it would change. It did update to $17.50 when I added on a further 5 2nd edition starter boxes... so either it's wrong, I've put the details to sunny Scotland in wrong... or the world is ending.

I won't lie, I'd support that. A lot of people outside the US really like Malifaux, and their continued support means us Yanks will get more content than we would if it were just us. An additional couple of bucks to make international shipping even would be money well spent, in my opinion.

The only time I pay shipping from Wyrd's store is when I turn in Henchman codes, which only covers the cost of the models. So I could buy that same box and shaman from my store and not pay 10 bucks in shipping if I had 50 dollar gift card to his store that I got for running games and events there (essentially what my Henchman codes do, but from Wyrd's store). And I don't think it would cost me 10 bucks in shipping considering I shipped an entire Cygnar army of about 75 to 100 points using the same shipping method (2 days) and I spent 12 bucks. It was a heavier and far larger box...

*shrugs* w/e though Wyrd can charge what they want for shipping and people will still pay it, not a gripe just the nature of the postal game.

If it makes you feel better, as much as I like some of the models I'm passing.

No subsidising to worry about.
