"...I think I'll take it." (Via Elite Cadre )
This list has met with wild success at my FLGS, where the meta is living model armies. It has yet to lose (in all humility). It's been about 15 games, I'm not really sure.
Goreshade the Cursed [+5]
Reaper [7]
Ripjaw [5]
10 Bane Thralls [8] UA [3]
10 Bane Thralls [8] UA [0]
Bane Lord Tartarus [4]
Withershadow Combine [5]
Mainly the Elite Cadre lets me make oodles of Bane Thralls, until I can pop feat and place a dozen or so around around the enemy Caster, normally keeping them at bay long enough for Goreshade to charge FTW. Pretty straightforward, everyone sees it coming, but still has problems dealing with it. If they run their infantry up front, I make Thralls. If they run their jacks up front, I make jacks. It's a factory list.

Aside from Butcher3, who will make you very very sad, it looks dead ard.

Hilariously enough, I played against Butch3r last night!! He forgot that his caster had a 21" threat range on feat turn. More's the pity him.
What would you run with Butch3r to give this list trouble?

As few souls as possible.
Maybe a bunch of Man-o-wars along with the Risen.
Its all about delivering Butcher to the enemy where he can do the most damage and knock the enemy out.
I'm not a Khador player, but I'm fairly familiar with them. Butcher3 may make me start Khador, even with Cyriss beckoning.
I'd also focus on wiping out your whole units of Bane thralls, something Butcher could do easily enough. that way you can't bring them back.

Butch3r is VERY sexy. I might pick up Khador now too... Even though I'm already a Cygnar/Cryx/Dwarf player haha.
Fewer souls would present a problem, but the Banes have no problem with heavy armor, and even more so, don't suffer terror against Doom Reavers... So it shuts down lots of Khardor shenanigans as well.
As you said, an Ard list

Man-o-war? really? Against Bane Thralls who love easy to hit, armoured troops?
If a Khador player wanted to defeat Goreshade2 then you generally want troops that are really hard to hit in melee. Perfect for this are the Kazazy Assassins. You really don't want to worry about giving out souls as Goreshade doesn't really want to collect souls. Of course, Assassins are much better with Iron Flesh which Butcher3 doesn't have so that's a minor issue.

By souls I more meant living models, bc the only thing this list really hates in an undead army. But even then, plenty of stabby goodness to cleave through them
