Some Tomb World in some galaxy by that one thing in that one place (or Minnesota for nosy people)

So I was at my FLGS and bought an old school metal Daemon Prince only to find out that it had an extra arm instead of a leg. I talked to my store clerk but unfortunately he couldn't give me any useful info regarding the topic and the manager was not there.

I'm just wondering whether it would be better to call up GW about this and get the resin version or should I wait for another week or so to talk to the manager about ordering another one but it usually takes a while till our store restocks anything that isn't a TCG

i personaly have never had a issue wih this efore but everyone ive talked to said that when they called with a issue lie this it was replaced and they got to keep the old one as well. I'd assume its pretty straight forward their # should be on their website.

You've got nothing to loose, and it's their job to keep you happy. As long as you bought it new you should be fine, though I doubt they would ask for a receipt. Worst they can do is say no.

Call them, however the replacement part is most likely going to be finecast because I don't think they make the metal version anymore.

Then you'd end up with two daemon prince models. make a tail from wire and green stuff and the metal one can be a serpentine spare for a Chaos Boon roll!

Somehow I think they would just send a finecast DP leg and a smiley sticker...

Its unlikely but if I know GW and how much they love me they will find a way

Then you clearly have no experience of GW Customer Service.
It's probably the only aspect of their business that is beyond reproach.

You will more than likely get a replacement model. If they still have metal kicking around, one of those. But probably Finecast.

It's cheaper and easier to just send the order down to Steve in Shipping to take a box out of stock and ship it out than it is to have someone crack open a box, take out a leg, package it and ship it.

And then you have to keep around an open box waiting for someone who needs the rest.

I have had them mail me a replacement box of tactical marines because one sprue was a short shot and had two arms that were defective.

GW [thankfully] dosen't make metal miniatures anymore, so I'm not quite sure how useful CS is going to be.

Well, with the prices they charge, one would hope that some aspect of their business is beyond reproach.

I'mmost likely gonna just steal the resin leg off if the new one and build the metal one with a resin leg just cuz I like metal models over resin. Then the resin one will get some tentacle of some sort or my extra arm for a leg and be their incase my cultists turn into one by some miracle

GW customer service is the bee's knee's

I had an issue with a finecast vulkan, his hand flamer was busted.

All i had to do was tell them the part that was messed up and my address and they shipped it out.

You arnt going to get a whole new model just the part you need replaced.

To many unpainted models to count.

The guy said he was shipoing me out a whole new model. And it would also make sense because otherwise they will just have piles of random resin bits that hardly ever get miscast and can't sell since they are incomplete models

Call GW and they will take care of it. Have the box handy because they will likely ask you for the batch code from it. Simple and easy process.

Even a finecast leg is the same exact part...it just is not made of metal. As for replacement of the model or the part it really depends on the CS rep involved. In the past I've been sent a completely new war walker kit because the clear plastic canopy sprue was missing, but in others I received just the CSM specail weapons/command sprue that was missing from a box. So it really does depend.

What part you get is really up to the rep you get on the phone. They can say 'meh' and send you the entire model or they can send you a leg. I've seen both with about even frequency, one time I got a free war walker because the weapon sprue was missing and one time I called about a few bits in my witch kit being crushed a bit in shipping and they literally got clippers and sent me the individual bits off the sprue. I've had to call back multiple times because they didn't send me enough as well. Just really depends but it costs nothing but time really to call them. In the time it takes to draft up a forum post saying "Should I call the manufacturer of a product I paid for re: their defective product" (hint: the answer is obviously yes in 10000% of all cases) you could have just called them 3 or 4 times.

I bought Ajac Rockfist - I kept him for 18 months and then sold him still boxed to a friend.
When my friend opened the box, he looks like he been smashed in the face with a shovel.
Went to GW, they took one look and they swapped it on the spot.
GW Customer Service is the best thing about GW.

I recently bought a land raider with 2 left sides and no right one. Quick call and the right side sprue was on my doorstep. I've also taken a box of finecast harlies into a local GW due to a missing guy ( extra body, missing legs). Store owner swapped the entire box and opened the new one up for me to make sure it was good before I left the store. Of course, I got distracted and left it on my shelf for a month only to have my 4 year old "misplace" one of the bodies. Grr.

Yes, GW customer service will take care of you. Don't email them, pick up the phone.
