I've been thinking of adding more ravenwing to my DA (right now only have the 3 DV bikers) so on my way to work today I was thinking of how Sammy and azrael make ravenwing attack squadron troops. So if I add the attack bike and landspeeder to the squadron would they be considered troops and scoring? Since they'll be part of the squadron even though the have to be run as a separate unit

They would be troops but the speeder wouldn't score because it's a vehicle.

You need six bikes in a unit befor you can take an attack bike or speeder as apart of the unit. Once they hit the table the AB or LS branch off of the unit and count as there own. So if the attackbike goes down and is the first thing you lose there goes FIRST BLOOD. They are takin as apart of the unit so they do not take up a FOC slot. If you want something that is fast hits hard and tuff id looking into black knights.

Yea I'm aware of them being their unit an an easy way for my opponent to get first blood but. Will they still hold objectives? The attack bikes. Black knights are good but they won't count as troops I'll fill elite spots with them I'm just curious if the AB can hold the objective...maybe it'll survive yesterday I had one biker last 7 turns behind enemy lines...gave me linebrraker and was holding objective at end of turn 7 we were playing the scouring

Attack biker can, as it is a troops choice and is not a vehicle.

You need six bikes in a unit before you can take an attack bike or speeder as apart of the unit.

Not quite right there I'm afraid. You need 6 bikes for the speeder, but there is no requirement for the attack bike.

The attack bike scores separately, the speeder can't as it is a vehicle.

Correct. 6 bikes unlocks the speeder. it also requires that you break up the squad into combat squads. I like to run 5 bikes and an attack bike. out flanking the attack bike protects it for a bit. 5 bikes in one mob is a tough nut to crack with T5 3+/4-5++ saves running all over.

The current "controversy" is whether or not Sammael can still be a warlord on the Sableclaw land speeder, as he loses his character designation.

6 Bikes gives you the option to break up into Combat Squads, it doesn't require it.
