Alright, answer the question without compromising your stated position.

And just to be sure, what are you reading as my "stated position".

That Hasan was not an "everyday citizen" prior to the Fort Hood Massacre, and that it was therefore acceptable for the FBI and the Pentagon to investigate him while it was unacceptable for the the NSA to do the same regarding citizens that were "everyday".

Gotcha... that's not my "stance".

First of all, Hasan is more than just an "everyday citizen"... he's a commissioned officer.

Secondly, the FBI/Pentagon intercepts were from the US to external target... well within current practice of monitoring communication of suspected terrorist (in this case, al-Awlaki).

Thirdly, let me repeat... al-Awlaki was designated as a terrorist and Hasan was have DIRECT communication with... wrap you head about this.

There's no comparison here between what the pentagon did to what NSA is doing.

Commissioned Officer, not enlisted. As an NCO, I'd be considered an "enlisted officer" if that were a real thing.

SO now it goes through another military judge to ensure that everything supports the Death Penalty. Pass on to the next individual who says aye or nay to execute. Obama probably won't make a decision while he is in office

So how would you define an "everyday citizen"?

Yes, they were within the boundaries of FISA and PAA; as is PRISM.

You compared them in the post which I originally objected to, so yes there is.

Dude was talking extensively to a terrorist. Of course somebody's going to investigate that.

Worst punishment for Hasan is keeping him alive and not executing him. There by denying him his "paradise" and terrorist organizations a propaganda tool
