What is your favourite colour/paint sceme for ork skin?
Personally for me it's this one that I found in a blanchitzu article in an old white dwarf:
Base coat: snake bite leather with a hint of thraka green and a pinch of skull white
Then a wash of devlan mud
Then a hi light of white with snakebite leather
Then given a final wash whith thraka green.
The whole thing creates a nice earthy effect, anyway what's yours?

I like a somewhat cartoony look, Goblin Green with black-washed shading and Scorpion Green highlighting. Of course, those are the old colours...

I use a mix of Vallejo and the now defunct Citadel line, so I'll have to update my method when I run out of my current stores. As it stands, though, I do:
black primer
Orkhide Shade undercoat
Sick Green basecoat
Thrakka Green wash
Sick Green general highlight
Goblin Green extreme highlights
glaze of Thrakka Green
The result is a very saturated, but not overly bright, green with very smooth gradients (without the hassle of skillful blending). I could get faster or better results with other methods, but this is my happy middle ground.

I've been using a method I picked up on here which is nice and quick.
Prime in white.
Basecoat in Gretchin Green (or w/e it's called now)
Wash in Thraka Green
Wash in Devlan mud
Voila.

My simple speed painting of Bad Moons, base prime of yellow, then a green wash. Quick, but great results.

I'm a fan of the greyscale or sepia tone, myself. Just as long as it isn't green or red.

I think they look wicked in a ghostly white, red isn't too bad....and of course green is the old standby
Edit:I prefer a pale green to a cartoony green...basically goblin green is a little too cartoony for my tastes.

For mine I go for a brighter scheme rather than the grittier and darker skin that I usually see. Here's what I do:
1. Paint all of the skin Warboss Green.
2. Biel-Tan Green wash the skin to shade in the crevices.
3. Mix up a yellow-green on my palette and use it for highlighting the raised parts.
It's quick, easy, and I think it looks nice.

With any army I paint every mini a slightly different skin tone and orks are no different. I do like using a white base coat then washing agrax earthshade followed by thrakka green or anpther fvourite is 2 heavy coats of camoshade then a wash of earthshade. The 2nd is a lighter and more nurgle flesh then ork but is still really like it.
If I'm painting them I like
1. Warboss green
2. Heavy camoshade or thrakka wash
3. Warboss again
4. Then 50/50 warboss and moot
5. Moot highlights

ive been experimenting recently with variations of a bad moons speed guide on here. Where instead of base coating in a light yellow, I have base coated in an icy blue or very light blue. Followed up with 2 washes of thrakka green and it gives a lovely darker/grim colour (depending on washes).
I also enjoy the schemes where they have created a very muted/greyscale look. Not sure how its achieved, but I imagine simply some more earthy browns etc. I picked up the badger ghost tint range the other week and saw a great technique I am yet to try. Basically primed white, inked black to create shadows and then simply the green ghost tint sprayed over the top. It looks really fast and really effective.

It's been a long time, but i think all i did here was primer with dark military green (almost black), heavy drybrush of Scorpion Green and a sepia wash.
