It's currently sitting at 31.50 USD... That's not bad, if someone could get such a thing shipped to me for 15 dollars or so... Then I might be down for it, but 50GBP is just too much, even for one

UGH I feel like a dick for complaining about prices.

I hear you bud - i really do - but its Royal Mail.. and their £s... i will think on this more tho...

Think away man, if you can make it easier for US backers to back you, you'll get more funds . If not, there might be a suave british backer that might serve as the "basing pad mule" for US people that want 1 or 2 of them. They get the money via paypal, they pledge w/e they want plus the ones for the US backers. They get the pads and ship them out to US backers possibly for cheaper than what you can (no offense). You get money and international support, we get basing pads

Yeh, as the OP said, Royal Mail (the main shipping company) decided to increase their prices in April, I think. I used to sell a lot of stuff on eBay to the States but soon had to stop, prices were going from like £5 for something basic to well over £10 for the same item, it was frightening and I couldn't absorb the costs :(

Interested to see how the Sulacco bases turn out, as well as the others you've got planned.

$150 for 4 is a little cost prohibitive to me here in Australia, but I am genuinely interested to see what you come up with.

Is that your missus on the flyer?
Have you checked if UPS or Fedex (or any other company)offer cheaper shipping than Royal Mail?

Typically for something this small/light Royal Mail is still cheaper than UPS/FedEx etc

(you may get lucky and be able to pick up cheap slots from one of the smaller couriers that re-sell unused capacity, but you can't guarantee it so no good for planning KS delivery, they've got to be certain of their costs)

Fraid so - as we've have really hammered the discount we give every pledger we have had to make sure postage is right for every country we can ship to... theres an INSANE amount of variation in shipping costs between countries - not just in the ROW but in Europe too!

weve got fedex for the larger international boxes.

and yes.... yes it is. im a lucky boy.

Wargames Bakery -
I'm in the US and I'd love to get one or two of the bases, but I'm not sure about the 4 base investment as I'm on a budget for the next month or two. Is it feasable for a 2-base pledge? I understand ridiculous shipping charges, but a 2 base pledge might make it more feasable for more US backers such as myself to pledge. What would a theoretical 2 base pledge with shipping to US be? You had mentioned about $50 for one base with shipping; if a 2-base pledge for under $100 exists then I would very much go for it as I have at least 2 armies that I would immediately use 2 of your basius kits for.

I am in for the 4 bases but I will need to see the stretch goals announced before I pledge. So many rocky style bases. I love the wood ones and the road one but I want to see a tech floor style unit offered as well as some other options. The leave one is cool but so two dimensional and a pain in the butt to paint hehe.

All in all they look good and I am hoping to see more options.

I do what the voices in my wifes head say...

Is there a way they could be shipped from the UK via boat? Sure it might take a month longer but the savings might be worth it.

Thanks Wargames Bakery, I pledged for 2 to the USA. If the funds become available I'll definitely up to 4.

A thought for those of us on this side of the pond with access to a FLGS... ever thought to talk to your local store owner to get a massed order put together to possibly save on shipping?

How hard are these to clean out (how durrable are they to cleaners etc)? If I had issues with green stuff sticking to the molds is there an effective and safe way to clean out the molds so we dont lose detail?

fishboy - Each pledger will receive a detailed user & maintenance guide, which also provides some interesting ideas for other hobby projects, using our Basing Pads.

also -

Weve FUNDED IN 3 DAYS!

You guys are brilliant! THANKYOU! We are (right now) working on getting more Basing Pads ready - We have many uber cool sci-fi ones in the pipeline, some 'super special' pads that make squad leaders, boss guys, generals & special units really stand out, and some that create whole new worlds to base your 'off-world' minis on! We cant say more right now as we are mould testing with them and one or two of them might not make it pass this test... We are pushing detailing & casting to its very limits to bring you the best.

As a teaser we can tell you that one of them goes by the working title:

Sulaco Aftermath.....

These look good. A bit expensive with the shipping for me, since I wouldn't use bases for every figure, and I already have a ton of unused resin bases, but best of luck with this one, and grats on making funding!
