Is a list centered around summoning undead with Nicodem good? It seems like a fun list to build and run but I haven't had a chance to really learn the game yet, they took down the links to the rule books on their site so I have been hesitant to jump in not knowing if the game is fun or not. It looks like a fun little game that shouldn't cost to much to start playing.

Also does anyone know if there is another place on their site that you can(legitimately) get the rules, the normal links they have don't seem to be working anymore.

The reason the links are down is that Wyrd are transitioning between rules versions.
2.0 will be out on general release in a few weeks.
Personally I'd wait.
I'd expect links to come up for the new rules when the book goes on general release.

If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it.

Not sure in the new meta how Nicodem wil play, because of the transition.

Assuming the change to 2nd ed (still waiting for my copy to get here, just shipped) is not drastic, basic pros/cons:

+cheap to get into
+some cool mechanics
+gorgeous minis

-currently in flux
-steep learning curve/very complex game
-really thin/finnicky minis

(depending on your personality/preferences)
+/-a huge amount of variety in playstyle, with some really weird ones
+/- commanders tend to determine your forces, and they have largely self-contained thematic modules (easy to start in one and stay contained, but switching within faction won't necessarily keep a lot of your old pieces as strong choices)
+/- a huge amount of faction overlap that's only grown in the new edition, where there are a ton of pieces (even commanders) that can be taken by factions other than their own (from a 40k perspective, imagine if a character made it so you could only take models with rapid fire weapons, but could take them from any faction; or if a space marine character let you take anything with the Kroot descriptor)
+/- very heavily objective-based

I have used Nicodem fairly extensively and he is pretty fun to use.

He is slow, but tough abd his great strength is that he can summon whatever tool he needs for the job - he can summon fast models, tough models, killy models.

The disadvantage here is he can have a high model count compared to other masters but the models for this game are nice, and if you enjoy collecting & painting you'll quickly expand beyond the starter box anyway.

Of course having most rezzer models means you can purchase Seamus, McMourning and maybe Kirai and Yan Lo and immediately have a totally different playstyle with many of the same models.

Two words; PIMP THRONE. Nothing else needs to be said about the master of the undead.

Current 1.5 rules:

Imho with no BS, he's not the strongest and far from competitive.

His biggest form of defense is his ability to Paralyse and to Bolster his Undead.

Paralyse essentially takes a model out for a turn.

Bolster the Undead gives his minions +2 cb and +2 df. Which spent on Punk Zombie topped off with Toshiro is lethal.

Add in the combo of Rotten Belles and Crooked Men and you've got a solid start.

Problem is he's slow.

I've faced him numerous times and can beat him easily.

I really really really love the him and the fluff but he just doesnt step up to the the mark. Not even with the range of his undead options he can summon!

V2.0, unfortunatley I haven't had enough time to get much experience with him other 1 game, which he did well.

But i certainly intend to run him again. . . . and again!

Need more 's in my life!

Having played M2E, I can say that the changes are not drastic. ((The joys of knowing someone who knows people who went to Gencon, and thusly has the rulebook.))

The only major change is to attacking and casting.

Each spell has it's own cast value, and range weapons have their own Shoot Value and amelee have their own Melee value.

You add that total to the card you flip.

And the upgrades. Oh the Upgrades. You have some amazing ones, like the Vik's ability to ignore every defensive ability like armour and hard to wound. And some that make you erase scheme markers, which are also slightly different. (Line in the sand, the basic mission, requires each model to take a 1 action to drop a scheme marker on the centreline, as long as it is not insignificant.)

Also, I haven't read much of Nico, but he looks good. Defensive, Good cast ability And the artwork looks AMAZING.

Yeah, after playing my first M2E game, gotta say, it feels like 1st edition, but not so difficult to keep track of. Not being a serious player, it feels far easier to get in to.

Also, QFT re: nicodem, I was never wowed by any of his minis except for the zombie pimp throne, but if his new mini looks as good as his new art, I'm 100% getting him.

Nicodem's stuff is really nice, except for the bird claw. The one Resurrectionist model that I'm "eh." on is Goblin King Sybelle.
