I just got back some models I haven't seen in a really long time from when I got back into the hobby almost four years ago. I've been painting off and on since then. Can you tell which one is the one I painted four years ago? Post your before and after pics!

"Before and After" kind of vague.

But here goes.

Notice the little Tiger striped tanks and the White-blue tank in the middle.

The far 2, and the white tank converted too...

White-Blue tank turned into the "Atom Smasher" Atomic Shaped Charge Executioner Tank

Tiger striped tank 1 (furthest) turned into "The Raven" Vulcan Punisher Tank

Tiger Stripe 2 (middle) converted to the Quantum Singularity Cannon Demolisher Tank.

the exterminator tiger striped tank not converted... yet...

Regiment: 91st Schrott Experimental Regiment
Regiment Planet: Schrott
Specialization: Salvaged, Heavily Modified, and/or Experimental Mechanized Units.
"SIR! Are you sure this will work!?"
"I HAVE NO IDEA, PULL THE TRIGGER!!!" 91st comms chatter.

Well. I posted this on another thread, but I think it's relevant here too.
The berserker was done a year or so ago, the iron warrior is from last week

Wow that base alone is a mega colossal improvement.

May as well:

The marine is from a year ago (well, a year and 11 days ) and the Veteran Sergeant is from roughly a month ago.

@Warpig - very very nice. @OP - very nice shading, big time improvement.

It is great to see everyone's skills increase.

Thanks mate And I should follow up on UnCool Villain's observation of the OP's work - a marked improvment - great job!

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

Those Eldar are looking might fine, really great work from everyone so far. To be honest a lot of peoples first attempts are very good anyway.
I feel the most annoying part must be when you get to the end of an army, having improved your skills along the way, and look back at the earlier models and be annoyed haha

Yeah..this.

I don't know if I have any really old stuff left.....about a year ago, when I made my first real leap in painting skill, I went back and looked at my older work....and realized how bad it was (well, it was good enough at the time) - and redid about 100 minis.

Now, I am at another level of skill....for the most part, I am not going back and redoing anything....and the increase now is in the nuances (including more conversions, better shading and more creative basing).

(will look for some old minis...but have to say, most of the stuff others are posting are amazing...).

This really hurts. Warpig's marine look better than mine right now. I'll use this as another inspiration to take it up a notch.

Lots of impressive progress, here. While the side-by-sides are great, I'm especially loving the pics that were taken individually, then and now - interesting to see how people's photography has improved along with their painting.
