I was cleaning my airbrush out today after I'd just finished spraying some Tau and I spotted which looks like a hole or a crack inside.

I was wondering if it is meant to be there or is it faulty? I've only just recently purchased it.

Airbrush doesn't look like its fully cleaned out. that looks more like a bit of paint that is still attached to the wall of your brush.

You should have had massive problems with spray and bubbling on the side of the chamber if there's a hole.

You probably just need to disassemble it as far as you can and give it a good 8 hour soak in cleaner before having at it with your bottle brushes to clean it.

with all due respect to previous poster, never soak your airbrush its hell on all the internals. They are designed to be flushed out with solvents but a prolonged 8 hour soak would be courting disaster. Even the most stubborn paint can usually be lifted with some solvent/cleaner and a brush, towelette or q tip.

I soaked just 1 piece of my AB in solvent once... (*gulp)*

Then again, I'm not for knowing what solution Oldgrue used in his ultrasonic cleaner either, so...

Personally, I'd run a quick dash of normal airbrush cleaner through it. Still not proper? Up the ante and shoot some Purple Power through it.

Still there? Final cut: Straight acetone. Nothing stronger. I'm not talking extended exposure here, just fill the cup and spray 'til it's empty.
(Please note that in all cases proper ventilation or a respirator is HIGHLY suggested. Besides smell and taste of above mentioned chemicals, they're not really all that good for ya...)

After you get it to spray halfway decent, break it down, and take your cleaner of choice with a few pipe cleaners, cotton swabs, and tissues and go to town. After cleaning, thoroughly flush with clean water (I use tap water, others suggest distilled only), and I let mine air dry on a paper towel.

And, keep in mind that when cleaning with "Degreasers," you need to re-lubricate the airbrush.

I always do a complete breakdown of my airbrush after every session, so as to avoid such circumstances as this.

If it really is a crack (can't tell, that part of your image is too blurry), then I'd say that's a sinking ship. Replace that part and carry on.

I've had a chance to check it again and it's not paint, It's a crack (hole) inside of the Airbrush, I don't have problems using the Airbrush but should I contact the place I bought it from and get a replacement?

Yep. Cracks are just the beginnings of a more serious issue.

Try to take as clear a picture as possible, of the same angle you showed us, and of the particular part in question by itself, so as to most easily identify which part it is that you need to have replaced.

If I'm guesing right, that crack might crack up your airbrush manufacturers helpdesk to no end if complained about. ;-]

There is supposed to be a gap in the bit where the needle blocks the passage from the paint cup to the front.
That gap is the way the air goes to the tip. The force of the air shooting past picks up the paint from the ajecent hole and powers it out of the front.

I've just taken a (bad) picture of my perfectly working airbrush for you to compare yours to.
If the crack looks like that, or similarly machined and even, it's supposed to be there by design.
Only if something looks irregularly shaped there, I'd get worried.

Its shaped that way with the flat surface so you can use a tool to remove it.

There was prolly a similarly shaped small wrench in your kit.

The center hole is allows the paint and needle. The side slot should be the air passage.
