Will this army Idea work the way I think it will

Captain
Combi Plasma
Power Weapon

Troops
Four Tactical Squads with missile flamer

Two Scout sniper squads with missile launcher

Elites
Two Sternguard Veteran squads
Two heavy Bolters and Power fist

Fast Attack
2 Storm talons with Lascannons

Heavy Support
3 Vindicators with siege Shields

I haven't don't the exact math on points yet but I know its under 2 k. Would a vindicator gun line support by gunships and veterans work ?
Ideas?

It should clear the way pretty well but what will follow it to claimobjectives or get into melee to finish off units??? Also I would consider pods for the sternguard

If those Sternguard are 5 man squads then you're looking at 1960 points. I would drop the power fists for chainsword on the sgts and the heavy bolters on the sternguards and use the points for more sternguard with combis.

Otherwise this looks like it could be fun to play with and against.


@namiel : the 4 tac squads + 2 scout squads would be claiming objectives (that gives him 6-10 scoring units). Not too shabby.

He can't add more vindis without going double FOC though.

I'm not sure Razorbacks would be better than the scouts either. I find sniper scouts useful almost every game and razorbacks get blown up pretty fast (though the vindicators may be the prime target in this list) .. but YMMV.

I would suggest some kind of transport for those troops. On foot they may have a rough time keeping up
