I have practiced this army on a Necron army and it worked really well killing almost everything

but next week i am taking on a Chaos marine army

Do you think i should change anything ??

I am thinking of adding a bastion but dont know what to remove :-(

That's a very solid list as a basis.
With CSM you have to deal with 3+ saves, en masse. Autocannons are therefore best as AT or anti flyer weapons.
Have you considered a bane wolf? Poisoned 2+, AP3, great MEQ killer. HWTs are a good idea, but beware of fast units or flankers
Not sure about Bastonne, never used him but he seems handy, same with Pask. If you run into a cultist blob though, you'll miss a Punisher.

I would take off the hull Las cannon and sponser h bolter on the LRBT as it would only be firing snap shots when it shoots its battle cannon.

See how you go with the heavy weapon squads as I tend to see them get killed quite quick, I tend to mix them in with troop units.

I don't see any anti air and if your facing a chaos marine list chances are you are guna go against a Helldrake so maybe swap out a Hell hound for Vendetta.

But see how you go am just starting playing IG my self but I have a lot more inf.

I like pask because you can use his BS of 4 so the scatter on the plasma blasts for the Executioner cannon is 1" less then a normal commander and the +1 AP is a real advantage for tank hunting

Bastonne is nice with the Flak squad and plasma's although last time he just hid in the Chimera and they shot stuff haha

My normal tactics are hold 1 corner with 2 HWT and the Blob of infentry and then the tanks flank on the other side of the board trying to corner them

The difference between crons and CSM is that MEQs will batter IG to a pulp. He'll stomp up the board and then you're in bother. Just a warning to you.
Also, beware the baleflamer!

Take Pask off the executioner since it uses templates and try to get your command squad a transport. A smart player will blow them off the table for a free VP. Also, you can give your commander a plasma pistol to increase the squad's damage output.

I can see where you're coming from with Pask but it's just not an efficient use of points.

Other than that the list looks great.

Seconded with the LRBT's. Also -- if you're going to take a squadron of LRBT's you're better off taking Basilisks. They're pinning, and don't need line of sight.

With the points you save, here's also a consideration that I've been playing with: Add a Lord Comissar, keep him near and or attached to one of your heavy weapon squads. This provides everyone around him with his leadership, so they a. won't run and b. will be much more effective with orders. It's proved, at least in my recent experience, to be worth the points, as pretty much every turn they bring down a vehicle or MC (for a lascannon HWS).

I didnt know about the rule changes for Leman russes :-( that makes the sponsons useless then

Will swap Pask out for a bastian for my HWS and maybe see if i can get a lrd Commissar with some other points saving

Its only with anything that fires Ordnance, anything else can take sponsors and fire as normal BS.

Correction; no ORDNANCE turret like a standard LRBT. Executioner isn't ordnance so that's fine. A Vanquisher is useful, a punisher will excel against cultists, the eradicator for cover-heavy, the demolisher for short range

Just curious as what you usually do with Bastonne, I have been trying to find a way to use him. I love the idea of making like a special forces grenadiers squad with plasma guns, and Bastonne's Ld ability is great, but what situations do you usually use them for? Objective take/hold?

the idea of bastonnes squad is too hold objectives or take out commanders if they do anything silly ;-)

they work well in the Chimera untill the Plasmas over heat ;-)

had 1 turn where i rolled 3 of the 6 shots as 1's OUCH :-(
