Here is the finished shot of a Reaper Bones Cthulhu model that I painted over the long weekend.

Here is a link to the gallery with some more pictures - Cthulhu Gallery

I primed the model using black Vallejo Surface Primer. This gave me really good paint adhesion for the rest of the project. I then sprayed the model with vallejo Model Air Burnt Umber and worked my way up to VMA Middle Stone. I then washed the whole model with Vallejo Umber wash.

For the highlighting on the ridges of the skin I used a powder coat of Vallejo White.

The spikes were Burnt Umber, P3 Hammerfall Khaki, and then Hammerfall Khaki/White at 50/50

The tentacles were the funnest part of the model. I blended from VMA Middle Stone up to Vallejo Squid Pink.

The wings are Hammerfall Khaki Washed with Vallejo Umber wash.

This model was really fun to paint and for $40 you get a lot of model.

I really like the paint job! and the model... was it a pain to assemble?

The model was super easy to assemble. There were only a few pieces - body, head, tail, 2x arm, 2x wing. Everything was peg fit like Privateer models.

There was only one small gap where the tail fit in to the body. A bit of greenstuff filled it in but it would not have been noticeable after painting.
