Filing down a talon on my Plague Drone that had its end previously snapped off. It's too tiny and narrow to glue something on and have it stay, the only option that will actually last is to file it into a smaller talon and of course the other to make them match...

Also experimenting with Nurgle's Rot over Blood for the Blood God. They aren't as bad together as I had feared, in fact they look pretty good. The problem is that Nurgle's Rot is too close to the skin tone of the plague drone and it's blending in too well to pop. Granted it's not that big a deal for nurgle models, but I'm considering covering it with BFTBG again if I decide I liked it the other way. Tomorrow I think I'll put the finishing touches on the rot fly and then move on to the rider.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with your remotes Loki, they look a bit more like the nomad remotes than I thought.

Today? Looking to get in a game or three of deadzone with any luck.

At long last, I have acquired some more yellow paint (and the old Iyanden Darksun no less, which is the best yellow I've worked with!), so in theory I should be able to get back to work on my pre-Heresy Imperial Fists and finish off my last couple of Malifaux models.

Started early on some Malifaux today, with any luck I can finish off the two crews and get some photos up in the next couple of days.

I now have the paints to work on my Imperial Fists again, but I'd forgotten how unfun painting yellow was. The end result looks fine, but 4 layers, a wash, another layer, another wash and then another wash just for the armour is a little slow

Wow Ouch. I prefer to use yellow only when I can get a decent result through my airbrush. I have to respect anyone with that much patience for manual brush work Especially on clunky old space marines.

Hopefully this morning I'll get part way through the photos I took of a couple of Deadzone battles, I'm hoping to put together a battle report, or something a little looser, by the weekend. Of course the Wii is no longer functioning correctly (I think the sensor bar is out), so my laptop has been conscripted in it's place =/ No chance to do the editing in the evenings, but if Madame Toddlerington doesn't get her Dora, no chance of anything but horrible crying all night

At least it's not GW Marines, they're Anvil Industry sculpts are are light-years ahead of the GW ones. But yeah, it is time consuming to say the least, and while doing the Veterans and Boarding Marines was fun, I'm now slogging through 20 Tactical Marines that aren't very varied and a lot less interesting. Still great sculpts, but 20 'guys with bolters' is going to get boring...

1 down, 19 to go.

I need to get back to airbrushing some stuff, my Leviathan needs paint but I think I'm out of propellant.

Looking forward to the DZ batreps.

Orks v Orks with my next door neighbour (and most frequent opponent)

Good time had by all. Warpheads bouncing around like superballs (both had Da Jump) but kept mishapping into stuff...

If I remember rightly you can use candles in place of a sensor bar as a temporary fix. Or just pick up a cheap replacement.

As if I didn't have enough terrain already (Have a look at my blog for my original terrain http://compel-gaming.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/welcome-to-checkpoint-station.html ) I took advantage of the sale to buy the Fortified Sector set.

It's a big ol' box, with a whole load of parts for £50 - Or £40 in the current sale. It arrived on Wednesday.

By this afternoon, I had progressed to this, with all the clipping and some filing done too.

This evening and tonight, I began building. The first thing I'm going to show off is, well, the parts I didn't use, they mostly didn't fit in with what I was planning.

Then we have the small Military Garage - a companion piece to the Civilian Garage I made and use regularly in my games.

And finally, Checkpoint Station is reborn, bigger and better than ever. - And, of course, even more impractical for a normal deadzone game, it basically takes up half the board. However, with luck, I can add some scatter terrain inside the station itself to help.

Now I really do need to get on with the painting.... However I imagine my 'what am I doing today, hobbywise?' will involve 'picking up and hovering lots of tiny little shavings of plastic from around my flat as a result of my terrain building blitz.'

I basecoated 7 pewter Lictors (including a 2005 army box LE one!) and weaponized a Warrior with a LW/BS combo, then cleaned mold lines off of 3 Raveners and began assembly. I also sorted bits and found 7 Deathspitters and 2 sets of MC Devourers!

Tring to make a press mold for necron scarabs, as I want to do some "swarm" bases.
I don't think it's illegal to do unless I sell them, Whig I don't plan on doing.
