Went to the hobby shop and got some nice new citadel paints, the texture, glaze, and dry types. I also splurged and bought some tacticals. Did some bit swapping with the stores bit box, and finally attempting to plasticard my mk1 Land Raider.

Pretty nervous.

Also, trying to find some templates for life size Space Marine armor.

Mini No.100 is being worked on as I type (well, I'm waiting for a wash to dry). Taking a bit more time over these last couple of characters just to remind myself I can slow down a bit and focus on more detail. It's a refreshing change from 'how fast can I get this lot coloured, washed and based?'.

Pending lighting, look out for a 100-mini-mega-montage coming to a P&M blog near you tomorrow!

I hope it is more LOTR stuff.

Oh yes. In fact, this last lot is a complete 500 point Rohan army painted in 3 days! I'll hopefully be able to set up some group shots and multi-pics, and get most/all of my LotR stuff in one massive post!

Looking forward to your update

I'm still hanging back at 21 but I've got several things queued up that will hopefully help me along.

Today though, I'm trying to track down dice and familiarize myself for a Pulp Alley game tonight. Not exactly sure what to expect but looking forward to it nonetheless!

100 done except the base, and freehand on his banner. (And if you know the LotR range, this and my previous comment might give you an idea of who he is. If not, all will become clear)

Interested to hear your thoughts on Pulp Alley, it looks like it might be a fun way to buy and use some minis I'd not normally have use for.

Today's (and this week's) hobby activity has been logo sheets for Salamanders and 'related' armies (Black Dragons, Dragon Warriors, Storm Giants). Been posting them over on B&C in their downloads section. So far this week, I've posted:
Tues: Salamanders drake logos in company colors, with gothic numbering and the Saturnyne Ram
Wed: Salamanders flame logos with squad numbers
Thurs: Salamanders Rogue Trader Era logos (and, after I get home, some simple Dragon Warriors logos)

I will bring my camera and if the host doesn't mind snap some pictures. I'll try to give it a good think and append my thoughts with the photos to the P&M blog as well as soon as able.

I agree with you though, this may be the *perfect* opportunity to buy those Hasslefree Not-SG1 minis and have a purpose for them

Printer decided it was out of ink about 3 pages into printing out all of 20 pages i would have needed to have a physical copy of the rules with me. Lame.

Looking forward to it. While searching for my elf proxies in the Bones line the other day there were a bunch of modern/sci-fi/pulp tpy figures that I have absolutely no use for, but remember thinking they'd be really fun to paint up. PA looks to be a very 'use what you want' kind of adaptable ruleset, so it may become a future project if your review says it's a good'un.

@para yep! While it's the perfect place for detectives, dames, archaeologists (whip optional?), and rocketeers, mos things can find their way in. Who doesn't want to see a gumshoe have to deal with aliens and mutant cults on occasion?

Also just thought of two more things hasslefree makes that I want and that would be perfect for Pulp Alley.... Their original not-scooby doo crew, and the post apocalyptic version And bones, lots of stuff from bones!

Putting together at least a squad of Mantic Peacekeepers!! Maybe more. I have 75 bodies in total to put together (since 5 Peacekeepers and 5 Enforcers are making their way to a different home). Woot!!

I think this brings me up around 200 or more Enforcers. Can somebody take the needle away from me at some point soon, please?

Right, it's 1:00AM so I guess it counts as "today": I'm extremely happy, it took me 3 nights but Cirno is 100% base painted and washed, her staff is almost done, it's only missing OSL and the base is 100% done.

This miniature is being quite a challenge: It's my second true 28mm miniature, it's resin (even if decent quality, I feel resin is so much worse than plastic), I completed the base first (something I never did before), and it's fantasy related, something I didn't paint for some good months now.

"Today" I'm finally headed to the highlighting/layering stage and I couldn't be happier.

pictures?

I will probably try on the weekend. Don't expect a "true" Cirno, the miniature is of a normal human (which you may or may not recognize. Depends wheter you played Dragon Age or not ) but I'm using Cirno's color palette to paint her. It was the one miniature I saw and thought "This! This is the one I want to use for my Cirno!".

Right, so the first layering / highlighting was done, most of the miniature is looking pretty damn good but the skin is still so ... "meh". Trying to achiev a pale skin, like a DE, since that's how my character looks like.

Today will be another round of highlighting / layering.

Well the Pulp Alley game was quite fun. My opponent wasn't much more read up on the rules than I was and my printer ran out of ink so there was only one copy of the rules to be had... but quite fun.

As long as we were doing everything right.. and I think we were. It seems to be a pretty neat little system. I managed to win by claiming the major plot point as well as two others (he had two). We both had some of our guys go down and out (can't get back up) while others would continually go down and then recover. The initiative is pretty interesting, and the cards added a decent amount as well.

I'll do more of a write up in my P&M blog here, but for right now I'm eager to do some roster reorganizing and to spend my experience points before the next game

I will have to say, I find it somewhat odd/hilarious that both teams had brought along weaponized gorillas! Well ok, his entire league was effectively gorilla gangsters, but I had a gorilla too

Sounds like you had a lot of fun.

You can't really go wrong with weaponized Gorillas. It's the talking ones you need to look out for. And don't get me started on the ones with psionics.... Damn, Dirty, Apes!!

We only used the core book but apparently there are psychic/magic powers available in one of the expansions

I think we're gonna try to play again soon, and this time Buck and Co. will be battling the gorilla gangsters in a sweltering jungle. Time to make some terrain to fit... any ideas? I've probably got a week.

Got mini 100 done, but a combiination of poor lighting and the camera battery dying on me means no pics today, sadly. I'm thinking I may paint the last half a dozen models in my Rohan force and then take a few days off, perhaps to binge-watch Firefly (seriously, where has this show been all my life? )

Congrats on mini #100. Yeah Firefly is so awesome!

Stupid life getting in the way of my hobby! I have 2 Space Hulk models left to paint and there aren't enough hours left in the day to finish!

Hopefully I can isolate myself enough from people today to make it happen, and my group can try out this game finally!

I will try to post pics of Squad Lorenzo as proof of my hard work!!
