Greentide with Trukks?

What sort of self-respecting Ork player brings Trukks with his Green Tide?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Only 150 boyz?

You're short one full squad of Boyz. Unless they are trudging along behind a large group of Grots acting as a speed bump.

Anyone not going to run any for any reason?

I wont be because it goes against my personal opinion or view of what marines are and do. Basically it conflicts with how I picture space marines in my imagination.

And I know they've been around since 2nd, but i didn't play till 5th, so it feels like they are appearing from nowhere.

When my marines need to pop a vehicle they do it with lascannons or meltas lol.

Every codex that comes out is certainly making GK more and more useless,
Tau just destroys them with soo many S5 shots, not to mention everything else they have access to
Eldar come out with practically rending for everything
Space marines come out with, oh thank you for fielding a 2+ Armor save list, now my grav guns destroy everything
I personally dislike the grav guns because I don't want to play against them lol
But if I was a space marine codex I would jump on them like a fly on sh!t

That's Ward for you, relying on sheer power rather than army composition.

Safe to say, the rules are wonky as heck. It makes sense that daemons might not be affected by this, but apparently Ogryns are fairly immune compared to Space Marines.

Its not ward, Cruddace did the new marine book.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

He means that Ward designed the Grey Knights.

But honestly, the Grey Knights rules hte game with excessocheese for so long, I think it's fairly hard for then to complain that they've been reduced to middle tier.

Welcome to where Codex: Space Marines has always been at, lol. They're just happy to have a shot at "Not Quite As Crappy".

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

"For so long" eh? 6th Edition was released about a year after the GK codex dropped. As soon as it did, they slid back by a huge margin. Shortly thereafter saw the release of CSM, Tau, and Eldar, further pushing GK's to the back of the bus. So what you're saying is that GK's "wtf-dominance" for about a year (give or take a few months as the new books came out) was long enough for them to deserve being dropped more than half-way down the tier list with no visible end in sight?

Might I remind you that GK/Inquisition players had to spend eight years before their extremely poor 3rd edition codex was updated.

Now don't get me wrong, it's nice to see Eldar and Tau at the competitive level again, but that's no reason to say that GKs, BAs, and SWs (who were admittedly very easy to play in 5th) should get the shaft now. The ideal to strive for is a balance of power, not this merry-go-round of power-creep where every faction of players gets a year to make everyone cry and then ten years of leaving the table on turn 3.

Let us know at what point Codex: Space Marines got its turn to make everyone cry, and you have a point.

I agree that 6th Edition has severe balance issues. But Grey Knights players whining about Codex: Space Marines is going to fall on the deafest of deaf ears.

Welcome to the era of the power armor beatdown. Where the elite warriors of the Imperium who conquered an entire galaxy in 200 years are now the galactic scrubs. Join the crowd and get some IGuard allies, lol. I heard those guys have some cool toys.

They can take Land Raiders as Dedicated Transports though.

Do people still try to use the 200+ point rhinos?
Yes, because my meta doesn't have much that can deal with it, And when a list as things to deal with it, I can easily defeat that, so my Super-Rhino can rampage through my opponents line. Plus it holds my TH/SS deathsquad.

I'm thinking of combi-gravs for sternguard in a drop pod, as the weapon's best utility is against MCs, and suffers from short range (remember, Salvo is 2 shots at 9'' if you move, it's only 3 at 18'' if you stand still, and Marine gunlines aren't known for their survivability), and syngerize swell with hellfire rounds to go after pesky Tervigons and whatnot.

More generally, yes, plasma can blow up in your face, but it has wider utility, and provided you don't roll like me (I have about a 40% "1" rate on any 6 sided die, a subject of some amusement within my local group), longer range and I already happen to have my tactical marines equipped with a plasma gun, combi-plas and missile launcher.

On a somewhat unrelated note, has anyone else noticed some the pictures of the new tactical squads have them with 2 specials and one heavy? The strike force box and the tactical box are both guilty of this.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

On the tactical box, the other 'special' is a combi-weapon on the sergeant, I think. So totally legal. Haven't seen strikeforce pic.
