Hello video gamers,
my girly and me want to play some xbox 360 together (on one console so no system link) but finding good games is really hard i just found out or even to find 2 player games! i always thought consolegames are multiplayer oriented

so i would love to get your help there!

we are searching for xbox360 games that got:
1. action, shooting and/or swordsswinging, would be good but not a musthave
2. have a 2 players mode (no systemlink or xbox live)
3. fun to play (means gets not boring after 1 or 2 hours)
4. have a story, if possible (that would support 3.)
5. is not "dead or alive" or "haunted" (already got this 2)

i hope you can work with this and thanks for your help

Any Halo game. Especially ODST and Reach, wich have the excellent Firefight mode.

Borderlands 2 seems an obvious option.

Diablo 3 is actually a fantastic one. The best part is that it has couch coop without going into the obnoxious splitscreen shenanigans.

The two most recent splinter cell games have splitscreen co-op campaigns. I can only speak for conviction but it has a 2-3 hour co-op campaign that is ALOT of fun. Blacklist seems like more of the same but possibly better as Blacklist appears to play a little smoother.

Conviction would be VERY cheap indeed, i reckon you could easily get it for ten dollars ( I got it for ~15, 2 years ago)

One downside is that in both games, AFAIK, progress in the campaign affects what guns you get (gadgets are not quite as important luckily). In Conviction this meant i had the FN FiveSeven which is the best gun in the game and my partner only had the default weapons. With some fudging you could manually swap out guns though and maybe this ability is retained in Blacklist. However, played right you don't need to shoot very much.

Borderlands 2 is pretty darn good as well but the diffulculty (especially in Coop) yoyos to a ridiculous degree. In my Opinion i also strongly believe that the lack of clearly Delineated classes hurts the game in Coop (But makes it Awesome in singleplayer! ). There's also the lack of separate Player-Instanced loot drops, you will basically have to debate over every loot drop (Pick them up by accident at your peril, the 'trading' system is one of the worst i've ever seen). Also if your second player is not a hardcore gamer, or bordelands fan, explaining alot of the systems can be an absolute chore. When i play this game with friends i spend most my time explaining things (Due to the games level of challenge in Coop both players must know how to play effectively). Borderlands 2 is quite bloated in length and alot of the combat sections go on a little long and can sometimes feel like a chore or battle of attrition.

You can't go wrong with Gears of War (2 and 3 especially, 1 can be a little unfair and has a handful of frustrating segments). The story is a good laugh and has some very likeable characters with good dialogue. The games also have well-paced levels with plenty of variety. It also performs excellently in splitscreen, the textures are a little muddier but the Frame rate is stable.

One game i would avoid like the plague (for coop) is Farcry 3. Although the game's performance is amazingly unaffected by the splitscreens the game itself sucks.

Forgot to say for Gears of War (2 and 3) One player can be on Hard Difficulty the other on Easy.

army of two is literally made for two players. Very smooth gameplay, never too difficult or too easy.

I heard terrible thing about the sequel though.

The plural of codex is codexes.

The second wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't great. I liked the first more.

I have pc but I know a couple splitscreen games.

Trine 2
Driver San fransico (haven't played but it look really fun)
L4D2

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Have you looked at at some of the arcade games?

My wife enjoyed playing 'Castle Crashers' and 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' together with me.

'Left 4 Dead 2' could be a fun shooter to play together.

Yeah, my wife is terrified at the thought of zombies so I don't play that with her.
Not sure if Payday 2 has offline co-op but that could be a fun game to play together. Although even now it's still hard to find a physical copy of the game for XBox 360. I'm still looking for mine.

Currently all games by Behemoth are on sale on, so you can get Castle Crashers for cheaper now. They also have some other games that you can play co-op as well that you may want to try. The sale ends on the 16th though.

I was going to say Ultimate Marvel Alliance 1 & 2, but then I remembered OP doesn't like Action RPG's. Still, fun multiplayer games.

Castle Crashers is very fun, only problem is that it's like an RPG in that you can level up in magic, or combat, or whatever. But you max out your chosen stat fairly early on and have to invest points into the other stats, meaning you're basically railroaded into being an all-rounder, which sucks any individuality out of your charector and makes the whole thing seem kind of pointless.
