Wanting to proxy my DA's as White Scars just to test out the difference. I threw this list together real quick and wanted some feedback. Not really sure what i should change. I think it is OK on troops. Idea is I have the option to outflank the command, not sure where I would stick Kor'Sarro. Anyway, I get the scout move on everything including the Rhino, the tac squad without the rhino hangs back in the aegis with the thunderfires and Hunter.

Some might think all bikes is the way to go, but this list has 30 bikes and 2 attack bikes, thats a crapton. Anymore and my deployment zone would just be covered in bikes.

Anyway here goes, please pick it apart and let me know what you would change or suggest:

Total Points: 1839

Kor'Sarro Khan
-moondrakkan

Command Squad
-bikes
-grav gun x5

Bike Squad x6
-grav gun x2
-combi grav
-attack bike
-multi melta

Bike Squad x6
-grav gun x2
-combi grav
-attack bike
-multi melta

Bike Squad x6
-melta gun x2

Bike Squad x6
-melta gun x2

Tactical Squad x10
-plasma gun
-missle launcher

Tactical Squad x10
-plasma gun
-missle launcher
-Rhino

Thunderfire Cannon

Thunderfire Cannon

Hunter

Aegis Line with Quad Gun

Now I too am running a bike list and so far I like what I see you have going on here. However, why all the Grav-Guns? Not exactly sure how they work-per say but I was just planning on running the traditional 5x to 6x man bike squad w/2x Meltas, Sgt. w/PF, Combi-melta and attack w/Multi-Melta. Is that combo still effective or is this the way to go now with bikes? Also, don't you need a Captain on a Bike in order to make Bike Squadrons troops? Could be wrong there but thats what I heard and thats what I was told.

Well don't you need either a Chapter Master or a Captain to make Bike Squads troops even to begin with? Also, heard that the Chapter Master can do his Orbital Bombardment on the first turn, even if he moves. Is this accurate, as I have yet to get the new book?

No, Khan unlocks bike squads as troops.

And it has been FAQed.

Probably a good idea to get to know the codex before providing feedback on lists.

On topic, I've been interested in bike lists, and I believe user labmouse42 makes an interesting point on attack bikes being too expensive for their benefit.

Why the Tac squads though?

I'd probably take just one if I wanted a home scoring unit, or scouts for that matter. I figure the points would be better spend on things like stormtalons for effective AA and added ranged support.

You know, I was kinda feeling the same way about the tac squads. My original thought was people would be so focused on taking out the bikes, that the tac squads would go largely unnoticed or harmed until late game, hopefully giving them enough time to camp objectives and not be pushed off. Still though, I cant help but think that those points could be put to better use.

I reworked the list a bit and through in some DA allies(Since I primarily play DA's), I will post it when I get home from work. I dropped the tac squads and took a scout squad for my home objective. I also threw in a libby with bike and PFG as well as a darkshroud to bump the bikes cover save to a 3+ just for moving. I think the new list synergizes better. My only real fear is facing a 2-3 heldrake list. I just dont think I can put out enough AA for that.
