Wanted to see what everyone is running, whats your favorite list or your best list or the list you just think is OP

I really enjoy running the tie spam. I have a lot of fun trying to keep all my movements straight and avoid running ships into each other.

I have no idea what I'm doing at the moment as my area seems to be pretty slow picking up the game (doesn't help when half the ships have sold out and we can't get more in stock) but I really want to try 3-5 A wings and nothing else.

Chewie in one falcon, Lando in the YT-1300. Nien Nubn with Lando, gunner and PTL on Chewie. I believe that's 100. If its lower, Lando had a ptl too. Don't remember. Tie spam barely beat it, nothing else has.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but why do you want PtL on a YT-1300? I can't really see the big benefit there.

PTL on Lando with the Nub let's him target lock, focus and his buddy target lock and focus. and that's moving at 4 straight.

Ibistam with PTL & Heavy Laser Cannon, 2 Blue Squadron Pilots with Heavy Laser Cannons and Targeting Computers.

Damage is awesome, 3 beastly tanks dishng it out and the only thing I'm not liking is the targeting computers. Against the firespray was the only battle that I got to use the target lock. most of the time the target is reduced to an ever expanding gas cloud.

I've been having good success with what I call "Trench Run Trio":

Luke w/Vet Instincts, R2-D2 and Shield
Wedge w/Swarm Tactics & R2
Biggs w/R2-F2 & Stealth

Total: 100

I fly in a reverse vic with Biggs in trail, Wedge on the right and Luke on the left. I run them as a pack for mutual support, concentrating fire on one or two targets until Biggs is killed, then improvise as the fight develops, working to have Wedge and Luke catch targets in a crossfire and cover each others backs. So far in 4 games I'm 4-0 with this list. I've lost Biggs in all four games & Wedge once but Luke, thanks to the extra shield and his buddy R2-D2, has not taken any hull damage in all four games.

Probably not OP, as I have lost with it, but I'm finding considerable success with Krassis Trelix, Heavy laser Cannon, Marksmanship and Mercenary Copilot (so the HLC can't get crits naturally, I won't let that stop me), 3 Academy Pilots (these guys are stupidly cost effective) and Mauler Mithel (Whom I pronounce "miffel" for extra amusement, for some reason).

If the enemy rolls well and blows up my ties early on, it becomes an uphill battle, but Krassis can put out a stupid amount of damage with this particular setup, and has become the bane of my girlfriend's falcon and two rookie setup.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

I have had very good games with this combo.
Lando w/ nien, PTL
Chewie w/ MF, weapons engineer, draw their fire, assault missiles

As long as I do green maneuvers I can take all 5 actions a turn. The double target lock is great for guaranteeing hits with the assault missiles and after they are gone I can target lock 2 ships so when I don't use PTL with Lando, Chewie can use the evade action on his own.

Oh, good God! Tonight I did something very bad...

Kyle Katarn in the Moldy Crow with a recon specialist, the new cannon that uses focus tokens and veteran skills (needed to use a point up) teamed up with Horton Salm who had one of each type of Torpedo, the focus cannon and an R2 unit and the A-wing pilot who can target an enemy he's touching with the double shot missle added onto him. First turn was a very slow movement so Kyle could build up 2 focus tokens (recon gives you 2 instead of 1 and the MC allows them to stay on at end of turn) and then he started passing them out while being able to shoot in all directions. The game was very quick and very dirty, with every type of missle/torpedo I needed being readily available. Tournament level? Yeah, probably. Friendly? I wouldn't suggest it. I told the guys I won't run it again outside of a tournament.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Honestly that's not even a very good list. Kyle isn't very durable (less than a basic X-wing, especially when you're using all of his extra focus tokens just to shoot your gun) and without him you're not doing anything very impressive. Meanwhile even with Kyle the A-wing isnt doing a whole lot. Don't forget that you still can't take actions if you ram (like getting a target lock for the missiles), and focus only helps one of the two missile attacks per focus spent. And Salm is even worse. You're wasting points on secondary weapons no matter what he does since you can't fire the cannon and torps at the same time. And TBH the advanced torps aren't really very good at all on him, you don't have any help in getting into range 1 and even if you do you're giving up his amazing pilot ability.

Here's my current (wave 1-2 only) list:

Wedge + R2 + elusiveness + torps
Salm + torps x2
Biggs + R2-F2 + stealth

That list is going to kill Kyle on the first turn we're in range of each other (and probably before he gets to shoot) while you're limited to a single torp shot from Salm as your only real offense unless you're really aggressive with the A-wing. So Biggs probably survives and draws Salm's second shot, while my Wedge + Salm cripple him in return. And of course if you try to hide Kyle in the back to give out focus tokens you're just making Salm the easy obvious target, and with only 0-1 green dice against torp shots Kyle is going to find himself without anyone to pass his focus to.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Not quoting, Pere, too long. But I'm pretty sure the guy last night would disagree with you how well it worked. turn 2 and 3 I nuked his weaker pilots, and he was trying out a decked out Ten Numb. The bonus to this list is that it can fire in all directions, regardless of facing. And Arvin (a-wing) should be getting a target lock in an earlier turn, then crashing into somebody, then using the missiles (and snagging a focus from Kyle). Biggest mistake he made was holding Ten back in fear of me targeting him. I usually blow out the weaker guys first though, so I have more guys to break the big guys at the end. It works in my local area. I don't plan on doing big tournaments, and in the casual area I play, it was vicious. Try it before you hate on it. I'm sure a skilled player is capable of making it work.

It's certainly not the best or most OP list, however I did win a tournament with it (very small ). I'm at work so cant remember the exact list, but it was 4 x A-Wings with Stealth and I think Cluster Missiles.

It's more of annoyance than anything else, but I enjoy zooming about at high speed.

My favorite combo is Soontir Fel with Push the Limit. So many actions, you can just fly loops around stuff!

I've got something that may be a fun combo too, potentially bad against swarm lists. 2 Outer Rim Smugglers with Anti Pursuit Lasers. Throw them in to the middle of the swarm and profit! Want to add more fun to it? Take Saboteurs as crew, and make them flip those hit cards into crits!

I'm playing a 175 point game tonight, and I'm taking:

Outer Rim Smuggler
-Anti Pursuit Lasers
-Saboteur

Outer Rim Smuggler
-Anti Pursuit Lasers
-Saboteur

Blue Squadron Pilot
-Heavy Laser Cannon

Blue Squadron Pilot
-Heavy Laser Cannon

Biggs Darklighter
-RD-D2

Gold Squadron
-Ion Cannon Turret

The 2 Outer Rim Smugglers will take up a bunch of the board, causing plenty of crashing. I may not get to use Saboteurs much at first, but they are only 2 points and I'm sure they will earn their points mid game. Biggs, the B Wings and Y Wing hold back outside the traffic jam and just unload into it. Ion cannon will go to anything that tries to get out of the mix

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

The TIE Swarm is still one of the better builds you can run. One of the tricks to running it is to practice moving the pack and find out just what you can do to prevent your ships from running into each other.

Two swarms I run are the following:

1: Vader w/Swarm Tactics, Howlrunner w/Swarm Tactics & 4 x Academy Pilots (99)
2: Howlrunner w/Swarm Tactics, Dark Curse w/Stealth Device & 5 x Academy Pilots (99)

Both squads are 99 points to get the initiative which, if you're running a swarm, is vital.

Just 4 Blue Squadron pilots with Fire-Control Systems? That sounds like it'd be too slow and not packing enough firepower, how'd he play it?

I had a s*** list that day tho. so my experience is nothing to go by

Can't take Marksmanship on Trelix. He has no elite pilot upgrade.

My favorite list (although I'm not sure it is beastly anymore) was:

Howlrunner w/ Push The Limit
Soontir Fel w/ Push the Limit
Saber Squadron Pilot w/ Push the Limit

I've run:

3xacademy pilots
Fel w/swarm tactics
Vader w/swarm tactics and missiles

With reasonable success.

Vader's ability to target lock and focus comes in handy for those missiles, then close in on a target and swarm fire

Fel and a wingman do similar.

I've had a lot of luck with these lists.

Wedge, Marksmanship, R2 Astromech
3x Rookie Pilot, R2 Astromech

Comes in at 99 points

Horton Salm, R5/R2 Astromech, Ion Turret
3x Gold Squad, Ion Turret

That many Ion shots can mess up almost any formation or drive large ships off the table.

Or...

Lando Calrissian, Squad Leader, Gunner, Nien Nunb
Green Squadron Pilot, Assault Missiles
Green Squadron Pilot, Assault Missiles

This is a variation on the HSF list. Lando and Squad leader let him give 2 free actions a turn if he makes a green maneuver which lets both A's TL+F then launch. Nien makes all straight maneuvers green. The assault missiles are mostly for anti-swarm reasons. You could use a different missile and put those 2 points somewhere else.

I don't have a lot of ships, but I love running:

Vader + Swarm Tactics + Missiles of my choice
4 Academy Pilots
(That's all I have, but I'd love to add in a TIE Bomber or Slave 1 if I could get my hands on one.)

TIE-B's and Firesprays are both pretty easy to get your hands on, especially Firesprays. Check Miniature Market, they always have the big ships in stock and I'm pretty sure they still have bombers.

I've had good luck with the following. Its also a fun list to play with.

Its 125 points. We play all our games at this level as it tends to give you more options and its still pretty balanced.

Darth Vader - Determination and Cluster Missiles
Howlrunner - Squad leader
Major Rhymer - PTL - Cluster missiles and Seismic Charges
3 x Academy Pilots
