..that only Relic is capable of delivering such quality of animations and immersion into RTS , even Dawn of War 1 is so much better than any subsequent non-Relic RTS.

This really worries me because since Starcraft 1,2 we've seen this trend of making super arcadey animations of units and vehicles feel like plastic toys in a vacuum, they have no acceleration, turn-rate, deceleration, momentum, bipedal units often feel like they glide instead of walking on the surface.

My latest fears have been confirmed with Command & Conquer(2013), literally the crappiest unit movement I ever saw, even worse than Starcraft 2, which was hugely crap. Also the same no flight-model for air vehicles, air units were pretty well done in Supreme Commander 2, they really looked like they were flying but here again with the Starcraft 2 crappyness of hovering models on a 2D plane above the land and no collision detection whatsoever..

I really can't play games like that anymore, am I asking for too much here?
The RTS genre is basically dead if Relic doesn't do something..

Have you played the Total War series?

"So, do please come along when we're promoting something new and need photos for the facebook page or to send to our regional manager, do please engage in our gaming when we're pushing something specific hard and need to get the little kiddies drifting past to want to come in an see what all the fuss is about. No:

1.the setting repels me, it needs to be either fantasy or SF

2.most of the time you are viewing hundreds of dots and you only manage formations, it is not enjoyable at all

3.all units are infantry or cavalry, very boring, just compare that to Basilisks, Baneblade, battle suits, drones, Dreadnoughts etc.

Ah, so what you actually mean is:

"Have you noticed that only Relic is capable of delivering such quality of animations and immersion into RTS games that I have played, and I'm really picky about the settings I play"

1. The Total War games are super popular for people to mod. There is actually an overhaul mod for Medieval 2 that turns everything in to Warhammer Fantasy from top down. Factions and everything!

2. That has not been my experience with the game. My favorite thing is to actually zoom really far in and watching the people fight hand to hand. The combat has gotten pretty cool looking!

3. Can't argue that. But hopefully everything else I brought up will make you at least look in to it!
