First stab at a new codex SM army! what do you think?

Pedro goes with one of the sternguard squads (scoring units still! giving them one extra attack, and bringing down an orbital bombardment if needs be).

Sternguard have combi-melta cause otherwise you lose a precious specialist ammo (and also Bolter Drill doesn't apply for the special weapon if you take it). They drop down and try and take out transports etc. generally cause havoc.

Scout Squads are cheaper. YAY! Sniper rifles and missile launchers are a staple. so they'll be plinking down the line at whatever shows its head. Either deploy way back or try and outflank.

Assault squads are there as distraction units. they jump up the board (or deep strike) and cause more havoc where they can.

The Librarian goes with the 6 centurion devastators. His Prescience gives them T-L Heavy Bolters and T-L Missile Launchers that they can SPLIT FIRE.

The Stalker can track 2 air targets at once, so that's anti-air sorted.

To be honest, the core of this list is good, but the centurion squad is WAY too expensive in my opinon, as while they are good, your priority should be maxing out on sternguard, as while they are very killy, they die like tactical marines, so you need as many as you can get if you intend them to be your primary scoring resource. See if you can get 2x 10 and 1x9+pedro, as that gives you far more survivability in your scoring unit. Also, the libby can't take prescience, and doesn't add much to this list, so swap him with some sternguard. Same with the 2 extra guys in each ASM squad, 5 with 2 flamers is nasty enough for what you want to do.

and by split fire, you mean that only the seargeant can split fire right? because the rest cant.... and they already have TL HBs, so why use presince on them to just TL the MLs? doesnt seam worth the 65 points for me. i would get 2 3 man squads instead, and use libbbies points to get grav cannons. and you have only scouts as troops? maybe consider trading some out for a tac squad.

How does the Libby get Prescience? That's a Divination power isn't it?

300 points should not ever be spent as a 'distraction that might do something'

Man, I wish Lasguns could splitfire. Imagine how effective that would be. Even if that was the case:

A) Prescience offers nothing, they're already twinlinked
B) Splitfire only applies to the Sergeant.

The Stalker can track 2 air targets at once, so that's anti-air sorted.

Not at all, they'll have a tough chance cracking one flyer in all honesty and sorting out two? Forget it. That's if they actually survive long enough.

Libby can't take Divination, so he's practically worthless. The Primaris powers in all the other available trees aren't anything great so he's unreliable and he's ridiculously easy to kill.

Ok, power fists are fluffy. No, you're not really getting much out of them. Kitting DP Sternguard up for an alpha strike that ruins your opponent before he can react is a no brainer decision and I'd take at least two more combi weapons in each squad to achieve this.

Combi-Meltas really hinder your potential as well. If you come up against Riptides or anything similar you're finished before you've even started - even 3 combi meltas will be lucky to score 1-2 wounds. Plasma or Grav is the way forward and AT (which I strongly believe should always double as Anti-MC in this edition) should be left to set of units.

Yes, Scouts are absurdly cheap. No they are not effective core infantry. Seriously, it doesn't matter how you dress it up, at the end of the day they're BS3 and the squads will kill about one MEQ a turn if their luck is average. That's abysmal. Take them as minimal as humanly possible. Maybe consider Storms instead.

FAST ATTACK

Grav Pistol's concussive only affects one model so its only useful against MC's unless your opponent is too incompetent to both not place his characters behind the front rank and not take LOS'. This unit will give munched up and spat right out by MC's and they'll struggle to put a dent in it. I'm assuming they're with JP's right now, I strongly recommend you exchange them for JP's.

No Grav Cannons? Yuck. Why am I not a fan of this unit?

A) They're footslogging. The lack of mobility will hinder their effectiveness greatly.
B) They have no invulnerable save. Any army that has the capability to hit them with AP2 at range will annihilate them. Riptides will butcher them.
C) They are essentially S5 Tactical Marines with 2+ armour in CC. If they get caught they'll never escape unless you wipe off their attackers with another unit.
D) Heavy Bolters suck. I mean, they really suck. Crudhead didn't even make them count as two weapons so you're killing about 5-6 MEQ a turn with this unit if your luck is average. That's terrible for 440 points no matter which way you cut it.

Take two. Yes, you can split fire. No, you will not be swatting down two flyers a turn with this.
