Ok, So I can't decide between a unit of 6 meganobz with kombi-skorchas, or a unit of 5 nobs in 'eavy armor, cybork bodies and 1 Waaagh! Banner with one Pain Boy that gives the whole unit FNP.... The meganobz can Instant Death stuff with their pk's, but obviously go on initiative 1. The nobz, if charging, get S7 hits at WS 5 (with the Waaagh! Banner). Please help me decide which one to field!!!!

I tried the nobs out today in a practice game, and they went down pretty fast (I was rolling 1's and 2's like nobody's business...) I'm hoping that was just a fluke.. I usually do OK with meganobz, but I hear they suck for tournament lists.

MAN are awesome at take small arms fire but fold to AP 2 . you need to deal 36 wounds (iirc)to kill each MAN

depends are they just talking or in a truck? if they got somthing to ride in do meganobz and get rid of 1-2 skorchas so the front 2 will die probably and you don't wanna waste the points.
nobs with alot of saves is meh everything ignores arm4 so you will be stuck with ur 5+5+ rather have MANz nobs are best on bikes MANz are best in BWs

try to base your army around the MANz in a BW or flying up in a truck thast where they work best! nobs die no matter what you try! MANZ ALW

I had them in the Battlewagon with a Warboss (mega armor, cybork body, bosspole). On the first turn my opponent rolled a pen and then it blew up--he rolled a 6 on the vehicle damage table. After the explosion, a lot of the nobs took wounds (they failed both their 'eavy armor save and FNP! MANZ usually do well in the battlewagon with my decked out warboss, but I hate going at initiative 1 and end up losing a few guys before they can fight back

Ok so i see what you mean. Thats why i like MANz better cus when it blows you dont die from a silly explosion.
And nobz usualy dont strike first anyway.
Also thats pretty unlucky siuation to happen lol

I think I'll throw my meganobz in a trukk. It usually gets blown up, but by that time they've moved 13" (red paint job) then flat out another 12. By the time it blows up, they're usually within charge range, and never really get damaged if the trukk blows up... The ramshackle table can be iffy, though hahah

U shouldnt get hurt at all! The trukks explosion is str3 as to the Bws str4

I ended up getting second place! Here was the list I used. It did great against everyone except Tau. I was rolling really well, and distracting the enemy with the deffkoptas while I ran and flat-outed everything else

Well, actually with my tankbustas, I forgot to mention that two of them had tankhammers (those worked out really well dealing S10 hits!). I was playing with the models I had--everything was wysiwyg. I'm definitely going to invest in some more battlewagons. I have 5 lootas painted up, but a unit of 10-15 would be great. If I could change anything, I would add some lootas and another trukk full of tankbustas to the list and possible take out the deffkoptas However, the deffkoptas and the meganobz definitely were the MVPs! For playing with what I had--and playing against a bunch of newer codices, I'm happy with how things ended up.

Glad you learned! And seems weird tankbustas did so good! Especially in a trukk.
Squads of 10lootas in runes normally are great as you can GTG for a 2+ cover!
Deffkoptas you never really see anymore. And Bws sure would help!

I've noticed that about deffkoptas. I don't understand why ork players don't use them. I mean, twin-linked rokkits come on! Plus, a 12" scout pre-movement phase, and 12" move + 24" range rokkits. That can reach vehicles 48" away on turn 1. I've found them to be great early game units.

Most rather use dakkajets witch i find are better ork rokkits are garbage unless you have alot of them. Even tl dont help alot lol
